Good poster but gets very precious if you have a different opinion though. Still the bigger the range of people posting on here the more entertaining it always is.... Rubbish! Anyone who disagrees with me is an idiot!!!!!! And anyone who agrees with you is a fool! (from the Tommy Cooper joke).

I'm sure a lot of folk would post more on this board if the lowest common denominator wasn't so fucking absymal. The mods have a lot to answer for. For example - casual use of the C-word is consistently condoned but it is not funny nor clever and not really acceptable on a platform that wants to encourage an intelligent level of debate.

How would Bayernoatcake be able to give it the big one if you banned the c-word though?

It could be clamped down on effectively if there was a will to do it.

Produces very well written reports but a bit fond of telling you what your 'agenda' is. You have to accept on this board that the bottom line is that everyone wants 3 points out of a game and all we are talking about really is how to get 'em. There's a large number on here that don't want us to get three points they either don't support the club or if they do have a agenda about the management .I don't know a lot about other forum's but are they as easy to join as the Oatcake.

This thread comes across a bit 'SJW' to me (That's Social Justice Warrior, not Super Jonny Walters!) Everyone is allowed to do, say & act however they wish... So long as it falls in line with my beliefs!

This is a football forum.

IMHO Rob was/is the best poster on here by a country mile.
He is extremely articulate, refreshingly insightful and I found it very difficult not to share most of the opinions he had on the game, jesus I wish I could express them as well as he does.
His 'conclusions' series was on a different level to any other media insight we currently have available on our teams' performances.
He's taken a break from the board for his own reasons, no big histrionics, no big meltdown, he's simply stopped posting (for a while).
The very fact that there's a three (currently) page thread discussing his absence, clearly demonstrates that his contributions to this forum are missed.
Does he remotely care that this discussion is taking place?
I tell you what, I can pretty much can guarantee you that he doesn't even know that it is taking place.
For people to accuse him of taking himself too seriously, pretty much highlights why he's stopped posing on here ... genuinely, he really couldn't care less.

Or he might be logged in as a guest frantically F5'ing over this thread? I guess we'll never know...... :-)

Well, I've never flounced off since I first joined the Oatie message board on fenetre in 1995 - either I am not as precious as some others on here, or no one has ever cared enough about my views to get me that worked up!!
For what it's worth, I do miss Rob's "Conclusions".

There is no doubt about any of that, its not even a point for debate. My 2 'go to' posters on here when it comes to football matters are ChiefDelilah for 'insight' and FullerMagic for 'hot news'.

Bayern has a godlike stamina in this regard.

You swore then though and didn't come across as the lowest common denominater. I don't see much deference between the F word and the C word. Not if your talking about standards. I've sworn on some posts but I didn't do it to be clever or funny. A swear word should be used as an adjective, never a comma.

He seemed to disappear after a debate on the EE board about Donald Trump. He posted loads in two days, he took it seriously, then went quiet.

Your assertion was that he went quiet as a result of that debate ... he didn't, he carried on posting after it, posting about football. Rob hasn't flounced off, he's not taking this message board too seriously, indeed the only people taking this place too seriously are those who are chatting (nothing more than gossip) about his sabbatical in his absence.
