It's a weather problem some African countries weather in the summer is very hot or very humid so they can only organise the ACON in winter. I'm saying get rid altogether or ban our leagues players from playing in it, surely the world cup is sufficient. Why do we have the Euros then?

Didn't Sobhi sign for us after playing a full season in Egypt.perhaps Hughes is mindful of that.

The switch to 3 at the back has killed off any chance that he had of having a decent run in the team in Arnie's absence.
He did well when he started against West Ham and certainly didn't look out of place.
Initially I thought that his omission was simply down to Hughes putting his faith in experience when we were going through that bad spell at the start of the season, which would have been completely understandable.
But surely we have nothing to lose now? We won't be relegated - so why not give him an extended run of games?

A manager like Wenger would get the best out of him. Our manager reaks of Pulis with younger players.

The ACON is the problem, why play him now and depend on him when you know he'll be absent for a month I guess that is Hughes analogy. Ah fuck it, why sign him? Not defending Hughes but he sure wants him to play after all he doesn't want to lose but like I said the timing of the ACON is the problem.

We need at least 39 points to be reasonably sure of staying up. That's 18 points from the next 19 games, or 5 wins and 3 draws. Don't count your chickens.

I think I'll find El Dorado faster than the answer for why Ramadan has been shut out by Hughes with Arnie out. Absolutely crazy this tinkering with a back three and no wingers. I get trying to surprise opponents but there is also damage limitation as well.

Egypt refuse our request to allow Ramadan to be available for the Watford game but agree to Hulls request to retain Elmohamady for their next game Is this because Hull are playing today?

It'll probably be because Elmohamady is playing regularly for Hull so is match fit. Has Sobhi done 90 mins for us?

We have an extra day to recover from our weekend game , one less to prepare for the cup game- one less player to choose from our squad

A way of showing his displeasure. Hughes is making a huge fuck up here. Its one thing if the player is not ready, but every time he has got on the pitch he has looked the part. Arnie was out for 3 games, Shaqiri completely out of form. We need some fresh new ideas on the pitch and this kid wants to prove his worth. Better than watching the likes of Imbula/Shaqiri sulking around the pitch thinking they are too good for us. PLAY PLAYERS THAT WANT TO BE HERE

We've averaged over a point a game ever since Hughes was appointed, and that includes 2016 which some fans see as being an horrendous 12 months. We've already played United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal on our travels so our run of away fixtures is relatively 'easy' (for want of a better word). I'm not counting my chickens, I'm keeping faith based on what I've seen in the last three and a half seasons. Relax man *winkyface*!

A club holding the registration of a player called up to play in the national team must release him to the national association on the fixed/set dates for international matches in each calendar year (see enclosure “Coordinated International Match Calendar 2002 – 2004”). The player shall also be released for the period of preparation. If the player is called up to play in a qualifying match for an international competition, this period shall be 4 days (including the day of the match). The period of release shall be prolonged to 5 days if the match in question is held on a different continent to that on which the club is domiciled (Paragraph 5b).

Got the whiff of Puljs about this one. Promising youngster comes on to prove what he's all about and looks like he could improve the squad and he's never seen again. This is the sort of shit that makes me want to see the back of Hughes. I absolutely agree.

So we've had him now for half a season and it's been a strange old time. When he's played, he's always added something to the side and done well. But that game time has been few and far between. Why can't he get a look in? It makes no sense. Is he still injured? It wouldn't be right to give him game time just yet, and hamper the progress of youngsters such as Walters. We've got fuck load of first team wingers too, so no need to rush him through.

I could be completely making this up but didn't Hughes (And I think Sobhi himself) say something along the lines of don't expect to see much of him this year as we need to get him strengthened up. I'm sure I remember reading/hearing that when he signed.
... Which makes it all a little bit more baffling 'cos in the match at West Ham I thought he looked as strong as an ox on the ball, and did some great tracking back/tackling aswell - Something I had no idea he had to his game.

They did say that. And as you say his strength is one of his biggest assets and makes him even more of a good substitute for Arnie. And from just watching the YouTube videos (dangerous I know) you were shown he had strength in them and that great ability to get his arse in between man and ball. The playing a full season in Egypt I can accept but I'm guessing he's been training the same and he's on the bench so is there to be used. Surely if you were worried about tiredness you'd give him some proper time off?

Yeah, he's one for the future apparently but he's always in the first team squad so pretty much the only game time he's getting is 10 mins whenever we're being battered, he's ready and you can tell he's hungry and Arnie being out was the perfect opportunity for a "Couple of big games coming up, no pressure, go out there and show us what you can do" speech, he'll never be ready unless he plays and in Hughes' head he won't play until he's ready

At the very least, Hughes should have one of his boys in attendance at all Egypt matches during the competition, reporting back on all of Ramadan's performances.
Good and all as he has been on his limited outings for the club so far, I have felt that he has been a little timid, which is understandable given that he is a young boy in a strange environment. Playing full games in more familiar surroundings with people that he knows and who share the same language can allow him to give vent to the full range of skills that he clearly has.
If he performs well in the competition, and still cannot get into a struggling side when he gets back to the U.K., you really would wonder what Hughes is up to and, more broadly, what's the point of trying to attract fine young European talent like N'Goy, Molina, Verlinden etc. if they have no chance of getting in.

Since Arnie was banned, our shape has been more two up front and no wingers. Shaq and Afellay were half and half on Saturday playing narrow at times. Ramadan doesn't fit that. To me he looks promising but no more, a good moment at Swansea, almost no impact on the game at West Ham but worked hard. Seems as though we are easing him in as he has some way to go

I'm not sure that that is a fair comparison; remember, Martin Jol was threatening to leave his job if Ramadan was sold to us, he thought so highly of him.
I have a feeling that this boy is only stopping off here, before becoming a huge star. Hughes owes it to the club to a.)use him to the fullest extent whilst he's with us (rather than continue to find reasons to play over-the-hill or disinterested players with increasingly little to offer) and b.)get the absolute most he can get when he inevitably leaves.
It's on these kind of decisions that I will judge Hughes.
