I've been there today and have so much to say on and off the pitch.
On the pitch Burnley mullered Sunderland...well gray did. Played right up against their back line, worked the full width of the pitch, was always an option, ran the channels and scored 3 super goals.
Had he not been subbed he would have scored 5 or 6.
Defoe on the other hand barely moved. Stayed on the shoulder of the last defender, played only the width of the 18 yard box. He had 2 meaningful touches of the ball, scored once and just missed with a second.
They were absolutely shite, started with o'shea in midfield and finished with him at centre half.
Off the pitch, I'm sad to report that they are a lovely, well run club. We went in the box v Southampton. Everything about it was poor...food, service, experience, staff attitudes.
At Burnley it was the polar opposite. Everything was excellent. Every player signed my lads programme and posed for pictures. My youngest came away with lowton's shirt having been presented it by the player himself pre match and then he came up to see him wearing it afterwards.
For me personally it was horrible. The first time I've ever watched another team whilst my own has been playing. Seeing a team with a centre forward signed from a championship club who is a million times better than anything we have was painful to watch whilst off the pitch I see a club so far removed my own, its difficult to fathom.
I know some will respond to say "fuck off up Burnley then" but that's not what I want.
Just thought it was worth sharing. Oh for an Andre gray in our team. He's just what we need.

I was thinking this when we played them earlier in the season, we need an Andre Gray, someone who has pace and is a threat, as it gets you goals out of nowhere and means the other team has to sit deeper.
In the last couple of games against Liverpool and Chelsea they have been able to push up really high and we just cannot counter them or release the pressure. We have no real pace anywhere

There doesn't seem to be the desire to get that kind of player into the club though does there?
Walters and Crouch currently occupy the manager's thoughts and his answer to replacing them has been the likes of Joselu, Bony and that other clown we brought in on loan from Man City.
In short, don't get your hopes up of signing a striker like Andre Gray.

We've become a lazy, complacent club awash with premier league riches where only the fanciest, flashiest players will do, as have most other clubs dripping in premier league money for any length of time. Gray is a proper centre forward. Quick, strong, brave, tireless, energetic and a constant goal threat in what is actually a very limited team. He reminded me of Ian Wright. He was absolutely superb. He also won me £200 because I bet on him to score a hat trick and a further £120 quid because I bet on both him and Defoe to score

Doesn't alter the fact that in gray they have a proper centre forward and off the pitch they are a well run club who value their supporter base and make a very clear effort to embrace them wherever feasibly possible to do so.

We should have been looking at Grey in the summer. As I've mentioned on here before, he's a local-ish lad (from Wolves) but has family from stoke. When he was a lot younger he played for Meir KA lads and dads and his grandad used to bring him every week as that's where he spent his weekends. He wasn't a Stoke fan but I believe his grandad was. I've got a picture of me, him, his grandad and a few of the other lads and dads players from our last autowondscreens victory at Wembley. Grey is exactly what we need. Fast, strong, hungry, aggressive and can finish! Perfect fit!

Even when he or his team plays poorly, he's always carried a goal threat, just as he did at stoke recently.

I'm not sure how to attach the photo or I'd have put it on. Forget the photo, get on the phone and start tapping him up! If I bumped into him tomorrow he probably wouldn't recognise me. I'm talking primary school age when he played lads and dads. Mobile phones weren't even around then. The photo was taken by the Sentinel. Embarrassingly, a lad of of my age can't even work out how to post a photo on here from my phone

Isn't there a bit of buzz and hope that our very own N'Goy can be this kind of chap. Belgium wonderkid for his age etc. He hasn't had the proper first team run outs yet, but he's started to feature on the bench/training with the first team etc etc. I'm confident we'll start to see more of him in the run in/FA Cup. No doubt not happening quick enough for some, it's getting that balance right... they have far more of the facts and evidence.
I'm also prepared to let the window lapse and see what's in the deck after that before fretting too much.
Happy New Year to You and Yours Dave. All the best.

I can only echo your thoughts Dave.
Went into the club shop yesterday to get my lad a new hat and a t-shirt with some of his Christmas money. Went to the tills to pay, was called to the till only to be turned away when I got there as the lad was helping one of the other staff. The lad was quite rude and ushered me to go back to the queue point. Some 5 minutes later he called me again, only to once again ignore me and usher me back to the same point again as he helped the same member of staff who was still with the same customer. Finally I got called back to the till and was getting served when, halfway through (one item scanned with one in his hand), he just turned away to help the same member of staff with the very same customer with yet another issue. Yet another 5 minutes passed when I was finally served.
It is without doubt the worst service I've ever received in retail. Absolutely shocking and not one apology for having to wait or being p****d about (I'm not overly bothered usually but the token words are appreciated when they are offered).
I wouldn't mind, but there were only two customers in. Me and the other family!

In a nutshell, you sat in an executive box and your lad was presented with a Burnley shirt pre match and every Burnley player signed your match programme. Hope the prawn sandwiches tasted good.

Leak and potato soup, chicken wrapped in bacon with veg and potatoes followed by sticky toffee pudding with custard and cheese and biscuits at half time actually.

Goes to show a lot of these Football League players are good enough for the Prem: Antonio, Dele Alli, Lallana, Gray, Charlie Austin, Jay Rodriguez, Danny Ings, Troy Deeney, Ighalo, Michael Keane, Ben Gibson, Aaron Cresswell, Callum Wilson, Redmond, Trippier, Demari Grey (sure there is more).

Got important goals for Bournemouth last season, back in the team now and scoring goals again.
