I really had high hopes for Bony, but it seems more and more likely that this one won't be what we hoped for either. Still it seems like Diouf is the closest we have got to this kind of player, and to be honest I can't see many players in the English leagues who we can get that will be much of an improvement either. Because of this I would go back to playing Diouf up front as we all know that none of Walters and Crouch are 10+ goals strikers.

Moussa Dembele (from Celtic) is having a decent season. Not sure how much he'd cost though.

Diouf if used correctly.

We need one. January transfer window, plus two young, quick full backs.

Diouf is a 15 goal a season striker.
We are currently playing him as a right wing back.

Yes Diouf is a 15+ striker Only he scores them over 5 seasons not 1 When considering that he always needs to have at least 5 clear chances in order to bang one in, it's hardly surprising is it ?

Diouf is a 15 goal a season striker. We are currently playing him as a right wing back. Last time he was played as a centre forward a glorious opportunity fell on his head from about 7 yards out; any decent striker would have buried it but he header it square back to where it came from and put it 4 yards out That's how good he is We do have a 15+ striker actually but he's 20 years past his prime - sparky

Only seem him a few times for Celtic but always seems to score when. I watch them. Took today's goal well, finding a enough space in the box. Quite pacey and got a few tricks. I quite like him but I guess you can only go of what you see and given I don't watch all their games he might well be average.

We don't create enough for Diouf to hit 15 as he really does need 2-3 real clear chances before he bags.
Pretty much all our forwards are shit, then again who knows what Ngoy could do? We'd have to grow a pair of balls first and try him.

So he's not a 15 goal a season striker? Because facts show otherwise. Can you quote these facts pls ? He scored 11 in his first season when he had to adjust to a new team in a new league playing mainly as a winger, with a month off for ACON. He scored a goal every 2.2 games playing for a mid table team in the Bundesliga.

im not sure theres anyone out there that would get 15+ the way we play, ive never been a fan of the inverted winger and i think that is part of the problem, its great for them getting goals but doesnt give the center forward much to feed on

The way we are conceding at the moment we are going to need a 30 goal a season striker.

We can't do it on the cheap so I imagine we won't be buying one.
Look at clubs similar to us
Southampton : Rodriguez, Long, Austin Everton: Lukaku Palace: Benteke, Remi (Loan), Wickham Leicester: Vardy, Ulloa, Slimani Sunderland: Defoe Swansea: Llorente Watford: Igahlo, Deeney
I said it at the time and will say it again, I was disappointed we werent in for Benteke and really think he would of kicked us on as a club and been that other "tentpole" signing. A fit, strong, young premier league experience player who has regularly scored 15+ goals. Madness we werent interested, we've scrimped and saved for far too long.
