Just to take the responsibility off Sal. Please put a * if you were at Anfield. would have been 6 from me, definitely wasn't the team I'd have started with but we competed apart from 3 suicidal defending errors and the fact he didn't sub Imbula loses him another 4 so its a 2 from me. Gouranga.

4 - shouldn't have changed the defence, we have looked crap since Ryan returned. Although Diouf worked really hard he is no winger, and Crouch in away games, just doesn't make sense.

I never thought we would even get close before the game. I'm saying a 7. We went for it and had a good half hour, the players made simple mistakes but I'm rating Hughes here. Away at a top 4 team maybe title contenders? Yes we need better players signings all that shit. Just saying based on today's game.

1*
Plays Crouch up front but leaves our wingers on the bench.
Subs useless again, waits for the game to be over before making any.
Tactics were awful and so were the players.
We had no backup plan, showed no urgency when we were behind.
We only played for 20 mins again!!
Gave Liverpool far too much time and space.
Sorry but not good enough.

There are too many games now, where Hughes is getting 6 or less. 4 from me today.

Never would I have started with Crouch he hasn't the legs to worry a defence anymore.
Subs were needed at half time as it was clear the players had already accepted defeat only Sobi and Affelay thought anything different.
If Munni was fit he should have started instead of Shawcross.
Good plan with the wrong personnel so 5 from me.

Cheers Albs xx So once again, strong persuasive first half but then steamrollered - no real arguments with the starting XI and I don't think the rolled over part was so much about poor team spirit or gutless players all of a sudden, just totally ****ing inept defensive routines and tactics under the kind of quality pressure you're going to get when a side as good as this season's Liverpool wake up and realise they need to do something about it. 5 from me

He tried is what he did, ran at his man and made a fool out of himself on one occasion, however he TRIED.
Best form of defence is always attack as soon as we dropped off them the game was over even though at that stage it was still 1 - 0 . You simply can not let a team like Liverpool have time on the ball and attack you. Pieters was MOM after 20 mins after that he never crossed the half way line. We have become the England team , we score , we sit back, we lose.

I dont believe any of them didnt try. We werent outclassed and but for awful individual errors we may have come away with a point. We didnt sit back first half we were unlucky to go in down and that was what destroyed us. Johnson's awful eroor and Shawcross failure to get close to Firmino

Just got back in and im lost for words regarding people wanting Hughes out. We knew we'd lose, it was just a case of how many. I thought the team he picked was tactical, there's only so much a manager can do. Them shithouses have constantly let us down. Give him Watford and Sunderland. 6* from. Would've been 7 but again his subs have let him down.

5 - Any manager who starts a game with an immobile 35 year old striker up front on his own with no wide player to feed his only strength loses two points straight away.
Not his fault that stupid defensive errors cost us, but the general pattern of our performances, muddled tactical thinking and bizarre transfer dealings are starting to make me wonder if this manager is coming towards the end of the line with us.

I'm definitely not a big Hughes fan. However, he had no choice because Cameron and Bardsley are both out until mid-January and Muniesa is just coming back from injury.

Dreadful selection. Dreadful bench. Completely lacking balance, pace, cohesion.

Yet another formation. When was the last time we played the same system two games in a row? Having ignored Crouch for months, he was suddenly starting, but with no wide players to provide crosses for him. The only possible result was hoofball. Where on earth was Allen supposed to be playing? The longer the game went on, the more lost and confused the players looked. Can't think of a reason to give any marks at all.

6* - Felt crouch and walters weren't both needed up top, and more flair (shaqiri) was. Feel for bojan after a class performance last week to be dropped. Not sure why he 'rested' shaq vs Leicester only to bench him this week.
Cant blame him for the goals, 3/4 defensive errors cost us, good performance besides that in a difficult game.
