Too many fan boys out there wetting themselves over Darth Vader's heavy breathing and a glimpse of C3PO and R2D2. Go see Passengers - you won't be disappointed. Just back from seeing passengers this very moment. Meh, not bad. Not great. read the synopsis on Wikipedia, sounds really boring frankly. Bet it's not a patch on Silent Running.

Fucking hell! Whats the truth? I'm tempted to go to the cinema this afternoon and thought I'd go to see passengers as rogue one still hadn't won me over I know I'll check out the reviews Passengers 6.5 out of 10 Rogue one 9.5 out of 10 Think I'll stay at home today Too many fan boys out there wetting themselves over Darth Vader's heavy breathing and a glimpse of C3PO and R2D2. Go see Passengers - you won't be disappointed. im happily one when it comes to Vader. Not so fussed over the irritating droids, mind. Let's be honest. Its no different to Wilko testimonial and 10000 people (of which i was one) wanting to see a glimpse of Stein and Fuller. Here's hoping for a full Vader movie in the pipeline.

I think it's a fan made thing. It's very well done though, the music is particularly epic

Just back from seeing Rogue One. Abs masterpiece and a real triumph in building a fictional universe. My favourite star wars movie, along with Return Of The Jedi and Revenge Of The Sith. It makes last year's Force Awakens look an even poorer affair than it was and puts huge pressure on the next installment. Rogue One really delivers in a space battle scene that we haven't seen on such a scale since the older movies. The fx at times are jawdropping. The Empire itself has never been more depicted with such detail. The CG Tarkin was stunning. Vader was incredible although brief. Now at last, we know why he's so feared after THAT scene. Loved his castle too, reminiscent of the Barad-Dur from Lord of the rings. Seeing the Death Star again was like seeing an old friend. Krennic was better than I expected. I almost felt some sympathy for the rebels by the end. Just a brilliant and dark movie. And even though I'm not a fan of the Leia/Luke/Han characters, the last image is today and for ever now highly poignant. Its a masterpiece and should clean up in the technical categories at the 2017 oscars.

Watched it this afternoon.
I deliberately had stayed clear of all reviews and not opened this thread.
I thought it was absolutely fantastic, maybe even the best one yet.

I went last night and I didn't understand a word of it and it was at least an hour too long. I should perhaps temper that with the fact that I prefer films with some gripping dialogue and strong character development to daft never ending chases, however good the graphics are, I just found the pursuits and explosions tedious and incomprehensible. With the best will in the world I think that's about my lot so far as Star Wars goes

Rogue 1 was like being made to peer over the shoulder of some sallow youth for the thick end of two and a half hours while he plays his favourite crash and burn video game, absolute tosh

You were never going to get that with a Star Wars movie but you already knew that.
It kind of begs the question ... why did you even go in the first place, what were you expecting?
It terms of 'doing what it says on the tin', I thought it was up there with the best.

I liked it, much better than Force Awakens and I liked the dark tone to it. The CGI was also very impressive.
