Ryan Shotton. Easy. Hughes has a lot to live up to viz a viz yooof. Cheesy, I spoke to Ryan last week he is enjoying playing in his natural CB role at Birmingham, not sure Pulis did the lad any favours playing him out of position but that was typical Pulis, however he did get a chance to prove himself on a regular basis which is more than can be said of any youth player in the last four seasons. Make of that what you will though it has little relevance to this thread tbh. Brummigen and enjoyment don't compute mate? Patience pilgrim.

Hughes signed Shaqiri. That will go down in history as one of the most "rock the city" signings I've ever witnessed.

Yes it is relevant because you're disguising this thread as another Mark Hughes bashing session. Read the thread Sid I did not start the comparisons mate, simply defending myself against other posters with undisguised agendas, unlike you to get so defensive. It's you who has the agenda. You must think that people are as thick as you. For the record, they both made great signings. End of.

Crapslinger, have you started this thread to further alienate yourself from people on this board? You quite clearly have a 'hidden' agenda and do not support Hughes. Or maybe you just like the attention, I don't know. Either way, it's pretty boring mate. I'd suggest taking a trip down the M6 and watching WBA, I think you'll probably enjoy games more.

Megson v Thordason next? If we're creating pointless threads for no reason then it must be coming.

You can not compare the two managers signings as one had what 6-7 seasons and the other is only half way through that time, and if you want to list BAD players then by fuck Pulis really did buy some shit and at quite a high price too so take your pathetic agenda down the M6, are you really that thick to think people cant see what you are trying to do? you go missing when we are on a good run then pop up when things don't run smooth! so transparent!

Most value for money player ever to play for Stoke regardless of manager?
Mr Rory Delap.
You can have your play makers, fancy football etc.. but Rory's throw-in was a worldwide phenomenon that put Stoke City on the footballing world map.
This alone puts Pulis ahead of Hughes in terms of signings....... For now.

Are any of those not SUITED to a Mark Hughes style of play? Whatever that may be!!!!!!!!!! That's my point, Pugs! I took Hughes's style of play to be a counter attacking side who hit teams on the break. I sometimes think Shaqiri slows attacks down by pissing about too much on the ball(Wingie suited us better). Affelay was similar in that he was tidy but didn't move the ball quickly. Your last line is the key though; what IS Hughes's preferred style nowadays? I loved the previous one, and I think we are a few good buys from improving again. Just think he's lost his way a bit lately. Its not the only problem by far but you simply can't play effective counter attacking football when you lack pace to the level that we do. I don't know whether he is confused as to the style he wants to play or that he's hamstrung himself so badly with the squad he's assembled his options are close to non existent. The rumors aren't encouraging further extentions for past it players. Large bids for strikers who don't score goals and not a single mention of a beast of a CDM we need to give us a platform to get back to being a side with an attacking bias.

I'm not even sure what a cockwomble is meant to be but if you can't see our football has regressed in the past year then you're an even bigger moron than your postings suggest.

Maybe today's capitulation will open his blinkered eyes as to what is going on at our club under Hughes.
