Did we waste the summer trying to sign the wrong striker?
Or is Rondon still "shit" like some on here claimed?

Dunno but WBA can't stop scoring right now, more goals than man united they just said on MOTD They are, and I think they have bought quite well, too. Philips suits their style and he feeds Rondon. I'd like Rondon here for sure, but I bet his goals would dry up with the lack of supply.

Rondon was never shit. He just took a while to adjust and was the victim of that famed Pulis tactic of leaving the attacker isolated with no support whatsoever. Both manager and player have now adjusted and Rondon is now the player that we all hoped we'd signed when Kenwyne joined us.
From Hughes' comments before our match v West Brom this season, I suspect he'd be top of his shopping list, but that ship looks like it's sailed now, and in truth, would Rondon have received the same service from us that he's now getting at West Brom? - His goals tonight were a lesson in how simple the game can be.
I don't know how much time we 'wasted' chasing Berahino, though I doubt it was as much as was spent talking about it on here - and some people seem to get the two easily confused, but maybe he'd be more suited to our style of play. His lack of game time for the Albion probably means we can now get him for a price more befitting the gamble we'd be taking on him.

Rondon scored 3 very good goals against a very poor Swansea defence. He got excellent service with the crosses into the box! A match fit Bony would have done the same imo We need more of a "poacher" type of forward - a younger Jermaine Defoe. Finding and / or affording one a big challenge Give Ngoy a chance before spending a lot of money

Rondon will go in where it hurts to get on the end of corner kicks, free kicks and Crosses and get the ball over the line.
Berahino is having none of that. Not for any money.
I guess that answers your question
