Some have said it left along with Pulis.
I beg to differ. Top performance tonight, reminiscent of vintage Pulis-era never say die Stoke. Backs to the wall, dug in and resisted the onslaught. Grant was immense yet again, the back four were solid, and for all of their obvious faults, Whelan, Walters and Adam were exactly what we needed tonight. And props to Diouf for another excellent defensive cameo. Is there another player in the league that relishes a good defensive battle than that lad? He's superb when needed to fill in defensively and put's his whole being into every challenge.
Well done lads, a point that feels like a win.

The whole character/identity thing was proposed by those who were still fawning over our previous manager. It was an asinine little soundbite because there wasn't any credibility in criticising A the decision to let him go and B questioning Mark Hughes ability to improve our team in various ways. So the whole character thing became a desperate lunge. Groundless and fatuous though it was.
Anyway, that saga is now over.
