I always used Knight and Sons for all my legal needs, they have many departments and are literally a 1 stop shop for everything....And I think they even have a box at Stoke, or certainly used to...

I used Beswicks, very very good but was expensive. Whoever you use mate they will fleece you if they can, charges for everything! I ended up arguing with them over the final bill to no avail. Ultimately YOU are their income stream and they will try to charge for anything they can get away with. If you can represent yourself mate it would save you a fortune.

The key is don't argue with the wife , agree terms and get the lawyers to formalise it . My divorce lawyer advised me not to spend months arguing about stuff as it would cost me a fortune in legal hours etc

Depends how much money you have to spend.
In the past you could get Legal Aid for Divorce/Residence Orders but it's much more difficult now if not impossible
For bob a job solicitors Salmons/Wooliscrofts/Brown & Corbishley all have Family Law divisions.
There are others..some very good Family Law solicitors but they are expensive & won't touch Legal Aid and most are out of area.
My advice is to visit the Citizens Advice Bureau in Cheapside in Hanley and ask them for a list of local solicitors who deal in this field.
Unfortunately the CAB do not offer Legal Advice anymore but they will provide an unbiased list.
