I used to be like that but age has bought more balance to the perspectives on it all. I'm sixty now, so when does it stop? When you reach maturity

Don't normally get annoyed about a defeat , but got really pissed off when sparky spent what seemed like about six months, throwing away almost every game, by putting haugaard or given in goal. Ffs how long does it take to conclude they are not good enough. He even kept them on for the summer break and then started the following season with them!

Always feel pissed off when we lose but the worst thing for me is conceding last minute goals to lose points😡

I always dislike Stoke losing , certainly come round quicker than I used to but never quite understand the rational people who take it in their stride straight away .

I can accept defeat now a lot better than I used to, once over it would put me in such a foul mood I'd refuse to go out and socialize with friends when I got back from the game and barely spoke all weekend!
Some games are still very hard to stomach though, Palace away and Bournemouth and Hull at home this season were bitterly disappointing. Yesterday though I felt reasonably content on the way home despite the result because we gave a good account of ourselves and competed for large spells of the game. We are a mid-table side and have been for a number of years now, part of being a mid-table side means you will probably win as many games as you lose. Last season we won 14 and lost 15, the season before we won 15 and lost 14. It is frustrating because every time you find yourself building some momentum it's usually followed by an unexpected defeat but I'd sooner have that than see us losing on a regular basis and caught up in a relegation scrap around April/May.
Football is such an expensive hobby these days, when you invest as much time and money into it as a lot of us do on here it's important to try and enjoy every day out regardless of the result. What we've had as Stoke fans for the last eight years has been truly fantastic, we are privileged to be watching one of the best Stoke City teams in our entire history and long may that continue.
Can't wait to hopefully see us get back to winning ways on Wednesday!

Yes I reckon that sums it very well.I feel a lot better now we're back in mid table where we belong but at the start of this season when we were getting stuffed I was evil. My wife kept telling me I was a nightmare to live with.I just can't imagine how I would be if we got relegated, the Samaritans would get a call from my wife!!

Back in the late sixties I used to feel like shit every time we lost, and now, I still feel like shit.
Some things never change.

If my frustration gets the better of me, I tend to find a puddle and sit in it for half an hour or so.

I'm fairly balanced about it tbh
If we have played well and lose, I can be frustrated but OK with it If we win but have played shit, I am dissatisfied If we play shite and lose (v Bournemouth!), it ruins my weekend If its turgid and we draw, I am meh about the weekend If its ace and a draw, I am happy enough
I have the same outlook with the kids team I have ran since they were 6 (now 15) - as long as the effort is there and we come away saying 'fair enough' if we lose, then I am becalmed....!
Bit like yesterday - played well, could and should have scored more (even Talksport were saying today we could have been 3-0 up before then scored), so thats OK - go and have a go.
Its a million miles away from the old days of setting up for a 0-0 away and losing 3-0 regularly

Saturday is such a fickle day for me, we win I'm all smiles and wanna make the most of the day, but when we loose it makes feel like crap all day, I become a moody sod and want chuck my toys out of my pram so to speak......Why is it football has such a grip on your soul, even today I expected us to loose but hope for the best, I still have a face like Jack Dee. Im ok until i come back on here and read some of the drivel 😉

Our defence is too slow for my liking. Other than that I hate us losing, but when the top six have all the aces, what can you expect? I don't believe we'll beat any of them this season. I'm just hoping for a good F.A. Cup run, but am not expecting too much in the prem this season. I'm always cup half empty, but we seem to have too many nearly men this year. Chances are not being put away often enough, and I am quite fed up at this moment in time, not helped by Harry Kane giving that shower a win today, which has put me in a bad mood!

When I was a kid, a defeat always upset me. Once we were back at school on the Monday, we all discussed the match and got it out of our systems. Then we looked forward to the next game. Even now it gets to me, but over the years my feelings have mellowed to pure disappointment.

I used to be awful when we were stuck in The Championship and (what is now) League One. You couldn't help but feel like shit when some of the utterly crap teams back then used to turn us over. I have mellowed somewhat since our promotion to the Premier League, I guess I find losing to Arsenal easier to accept than losing to Luton! (Although it still massively disappoints me!) My old man is awful whenever we are knocked out of a cup competition. The pure upset / anger he emits for the following week is usually couple with the "I will never see us win a trophy in our lifetime" line. After we got battered at Blackburn a couple of years ago in the FA Cup he didn't speak for about a week!!!

A loss ruins my day, no matter who it's against - even when it's expected it's just a feeling that can't be avoided. The matter of who we've lost to plays a part in how long it lasts. Today, I feel alright, we go again on Wednesday. Yet I still keep adding 3 pts to our tally and thinking look where we'd be if we'd have beaten Bournemouth. Liverpool in the cup for me this year was one of the very worst. I was truly devastated. Every time I heard the final mentioned on the radio I felt sick. I was hurting until the very last penalty of that final when Lucas Leiva missed and I saw the tears in his eyes. Still, we were so close. And then England, the flight back home on that Tuesday was awful. It ruined the whole tournament for me, the manner in which we went out. That one hurt pretty much until a week before our season started. I hate losing, I absolutely hate it.
