According to motd2 it was but in all honesty 90% of the fouls were made by Watford.

Our 14 fouls conceded was about par.
It was Watford's 24 fouls against which took the thing in the stratosphere.
Guess what I am saying is you can't blame us for this stat.

Totally agree...Watford were nasty little Football players.

It wasn't dirty as in bad tackles, it was just consistent fouling to break our play up. Little kicks, pulling back of shirts, pushing, backing into players. They were just playing games like Bournemouth did last week to stop us getting any flow.

Yellow/ Red card count was Watford 3 yellow, 1 red. Stoke NONE. Says it all really. Shaq seemed to come in for "special treatment".

watford wasn't really dirty, just very clumsy, and had little vision and intelligence in their play. We were squeaky clean and had much intelligence and vision from the outset. We lost sight of that vision in the second half, and Hughes wasn't reminding players of what he expected of them, so we reverted to hoofball, with players who for the most part werent even signed by Pylis.

I did wonder what their fans were getting frustrated at the ref for.
They kept kicking us so he kept blowing his whistle.
Seemed fairly straightforward to me.

Ah yes, another excellent example of grubby reporting by a poor quality Rag. It would'nt have been so inept if they had actually remembered to expose the agricultural 24 fouls, plus all 4 bookings and 1 sending off, generated by Watford.

There wasn't a bad foul in the entire game. Just lazy journos using the stats to try and make up a story. As Charlie said at the end, they fouled us, the ref blew...that's how it's supposed to be. Btw, I thought they had more than 4 yellows (plus the 2nd for the man sent off) - must have lost count somewhere amidst all the 'mayhem'

I was right by touchline and there were lots of little dinks, knocks and stamps - by Watford - which didnt get picked up by the cameras. Super John was bounced to the floor a couple of times in or around the box -but just got back up, dusted himself off and ran back into the melee.
As someone at work today has said - our players are big and ugly enough to take it and bounce back

Just goes to prove that you do not have to believe everything you read in the newspapers.
Very poor journalism.
No doubt the Mirror jpurno will be at this weeks press conference and I think a quiet word or a cold shoulder might be called for.

Does off side count as a foul?
The second half was very off side

It was just niggly , there weren't any bad fouls. Don't think the number of fouls makes it the dirtiest game, it's the quality of fouls that counts.

Given the amount of niggly provocation hats off to all players for keeping their cool, and especially Arnautovic who kept himself in check, certain yellow for him in other games. Quite a restrained almost lighthearted performance and winding up his marker on a couple of occasions.
Result possible due to keeping our heads when it could so easily have descended into an even more of a statistic.

I wouldn't have said Watford were dirty
You can make stats read however they want, in last seasons battle if the Bridge (Chelsea v Spurs) it was the dirtiest game I have seen in a long time, Walker, Lamela, Kane, Rose and Dembele all could have been sent off and should have been, yet no red cards
Watford were just niggly IMO
