Evening all. Just got in from the Watford game and a very pleasing win. If I'm honest when Charlie read out the team sheet I thought we might struggle today, but thankfully I was wrong. Stoke played well, especially in the first half and deserved the win. Imbula, Shaqa, Adam, Bruno and Muni all had good games. Watford though were poor and none of them had a good day. Deeney looked fatter than the Pilsbury dough boy and the rest of them seemed intent on fouling the Stoke players at every opportunity. I can't believe the ref gave so many decisions our way for a change. That must be what it's like for the top teams every week. The icing on the cake for us was travelling back with 3 very quiet Watford fans. This performance will hopefully give Hughsie a nice problem with selections next week.

Imbola was sky man of the match. It was a very disciplined performance from him. Kept to his position well passed it quickly forward to a teammate. Hughes and the coaching staff must be very pleased with him.
A very good solid performance from everyone and significantly a victory against a team above us.

Brilliant result today and Imbula showed why we spent 18m on him - However just a measure of the bias against us by the FA they will probably fine us for fielding a weakened side

If Imbula can keep his attitude right it will be like a new signing as I think most fans had written him off. Also If Affely comes back where he left off we suddenly have some great options. Add a striker with pace (like Bournemouth's Wilson)in the January window and we could break in to top 8.

Very very good result and 3 unexpected points when the team was announced.MOTM for me was Bruno by a mile and we must sign him in January. Will be very interesting at 2pm next Saturday to see what the team is and even more so the bench because one or two are going to be very disappointed

Really chuffed with that win which was totally unexpected
Extra boost as my Dad, a Stoke supporter of 70 years has been in hospital all week. Apparently when the bloke who brings the tea round told him the fimal score he smiled for the first time in week - brilliant !

Russ Shaqiri needs to play behind the front for me because he's far more effective in games

Reading the doom-and-gloom on here before the game that was a top performance by the team - this was a depleted team (injuries and suspensions) but top marks to the the manager for changing the formation and personnel.
Bruno for me was man of the match and has made such an impact since joining - this was a game against good strikers where without Ryan we would previously has struggled but today their forward line was inaffective. Well done Bruno.
Once we have found a striker who can take chances (ratio of 1 in 2/3) then the next level is a realistic possibility. I know every team wants one and it is clear that LMH cintinues to search for one. Wiould be interesting to see what Beherainio does when he moves (wherever he goes). Not saying he is the answer but in our formation the striker has to be quick, work hard and have a good ratio of chances to goals.
Clearly the team, squad and club continue to move forward - we need luck with injuries, with an odd signing or two and for a couple to come through from the academy and it does appear that players coming through from the academy is getting closer.

Team for me:
Grant
Johnson, Ryan, Bruno, Pieters
Imbula Adam
Shaqiri Allen Arnie
Diouf
Team needs to be picked on performance, attitude and availability - if that means Bony or Whelan doesn't start then they can wait their turn.
Last week we missed the energy of Allen in the number 10 role - Bojam doesn't provide the same energy levels

Ange - where do you sit in the stands? Perhaps we could get a message through to the players
