Great stuff, let's hope he doesn't come back a shadow of his former self ala Bojan!!!!

Would be great to have him back fully fit. Like a new signing!.

He'd be back in the first team on Saturday if he was anywhere near fit. Shame he's not.

Assuming and hoping he returns to his previous form (and this may take a few games for the wrist slashers) then this is absolutely quality news

Always availble to receive the ball, doesn't give it away and can pick a pass when its on; I'd play him in the midfield two as soon as he is fit.

Always good to see a player with a long term injury come back into the fold. Sometimes like making a new signing.

He will be like a new signing in January, ready to bolster the midfield - Whelan, Afellay and Allen has the makings of a decent central three.

By far our best player up to his injury last season

Our record with him in the team tells yous everything. 3 wins in the 32 games he missed I think. Pulis, trappotoni, Hughes, Keane and O'Neil can't all be wrong.

It's usually only when they're missing you notice. I sit high enough up to see the patterns of play and shape in the team. I used to live next door to a famous ex stokie and know a well qualified former coach. When you watch a game with players who know the game you start to see different things. That's why many can watch the same game and see something completely different. Unfortunately on tv it's hard to see the off ball work.

Good player , great pro but so transparent in our pr .
Shit performance , woeful result , the really relevant injury news is how is Cameron and we get this , he won't play until January so focus on the now and staying out of the bottom three . we need to grow some balls with our pr

Did I hear Hughes on the radio this morning saying Affelay could be back earlier than expected? Didn't catch all of it so did anyone else hear it?

He replaces Geoff?
I really don't like him as the link between attack and defence though.
I still think he could be a decent DM but he slows the play down too much further forward than that.

Thing I like about Ibby is as soon as he gets the ball, his first look is to the wingers and looks to spread it wide.

I thought he was the second biggest problem last season with how slow (so how boring we were).

Let's hope he comes back the same player, unfortunately these type of injuries tend to have an adverse effect! Can't see him carrying on where he left off just like Bojan.

Problem with Aff is he's the wrong side of 30. He isn't match fit so needs some games and I don't think Stoke fans have the patience
