And who mentioned the ability "to read and write like a librarian" as a matter for intelligence? You have got a bee in your bonnet and I'm open to debate.... By the definition you have provided (along with the culmination of it's synonyms) you have actually negated your own argument with your statement above and proven the opposite... Take me hat off to him, he does all the local/rural graveyards where they can't get machinery in. One of the few hand diggers operating. It's an impressive art, digging six foot down freestyle. He's quite the wag and philosopher.

That thread implies & states in more ways than one that if you dont spell right on the oatcake you are not intelligent, i'm just educating posters for future reference. Rounding you up before blindsiding you with actual facts to close the debate and crush your theories on intelligence like a fly on the wrong end of a swatter

It's 'I' and 'I'm'. You're either a bit daft or just incredibly lazy and didn't take any notice of very basic stuff that you were taught at school. If you can't get such simple stuff right then I seriously question your reasoning and comprehension skills when it comes to other things.

Some true characters with a story to tell end up in that profession.

Rounding you up before blindsiding you with actual facts to close the debate and crush your theories on intelligence like a fly on the wrong end of a swatter I read it more that the content of your opinion was what people were referring to as a marker of intelligence, rather than how you had written it. In my humble opinion, once it became apparent that the discussion was going in circles then people resorted to Oatcake-istic behaviour(using humour to stop people banging their heads against the wall) and highlighting spelling issues as a sideline. We have discussed many things over the years with dyslexic posters who are seen as very articulate and intelligent... Without wishing to sound awful, you are not covering yourself in glory with your responses and are seen as an easy target for those who wish to cause mischief.

In fact, there is no such word as "infact". I agree with you that such errors are not necessarily indicative of a lack of intelligence. However, they do indicate a certain lack of knowledge of the English language, which makes people take your written comments less seriously.

Thimas Edishon couldn't spell either but it didn't stop him from inventing the Lgiht Blub or the Fomograff.

Better to say nothing, and let people believe that you are not intelligent, than to say something and prove that you aren't
