Very very disappointing result yesterday and a game that was lost for me in the way we started it.We SHOULD have been 3 down had it not been for one of the worst refereeing decisions I've seen for a long time and a great save from Grant. Then our achllles heel set pieces which yet again cost us because the set up for that free kick was diabolical and if Matty Etherington is to be believed something we don't practice, incredible if true. All that said we had enough chances 2nd half to have got a point but the game showed us that Whelan and Cameron are a must in midfield if the front 4 are to flourish in this team.9th season in the premier league and the bloke we paid £500,000 for is still vital to us after all the money spent by both managers, recruitment department my arse. Anyway on to Watford without Joe so god only knows who'll play in midfield if Whelan and Cameron are unfit again but one thing is for sure Adam can't play in a 2 with so much flair in front.

We were very poor yesterday. We could of been 2 down and down to ten men in the first half . But second half we could of scored 3 or 4 ourselves. We lack pace and a real predator. Sh*t subs from Hughes, we still rely on Crouch and Walters. Shocking

Disappointing. Roger East must have thought that Shawcross touched the ball and even if he didn't it wasn't a sending off offence, because he had made genuine attempt to play the ball. In the first half, Bournemouth showed our forwards should play the ball around quickly with good movement off the ball. In the second half, they gave a good demonstration of game management, although I felt that Roger East lost too much control of the game for a period of the second half. It was a definite penalty when Bojan had his foot trod on in the penalty area and Roger East was in the perfect position to spot it. If I was the referee, I would have given the penalty and booked Bojan for simulation. We have all had a bad in the office occasionally and yesterday too many players were suffering from that. I also felt that I didn't do enough shouting and singing to uplift the team, but I wasn't alone in that regard.

A game we lost in the team selection.
First rule of management; - never weaken a second position by trying to fill a gap in the team.

Hello Ange and Russ, what a frustrating game of football. Let me start of first by saying the people suggesting Hughes should go are complete and utter attention seekers. He picked a good team, everyone around the ground and on social media were excited, Bojan had the confidence from West Ham and this was his chance but what a let down. He looked really out of depth and its really starting to worry me but hopefully Hughes gives him more time. I thought we looked terrible though without Whelan, I’ve eaten humble pie before and I'll gladly do it again for slating him, Charlie just isn't fit enough. Imbula would have been my man to come in and protect Joey and vice versa. Again, where's Diouf? I think this is his last season with us. What really annoyed me was the fact that he moved Joey! What for! Baffling decision if you think about it. We really should have won with the chances we had, you've got to score them at this level and again we've been punished, Shaq and Arnie were quiet which is unusual. No one got going really, not to mention the blatant cheating from the cherries but I'm not going to complain after that disgraceful dive from Bojan. Hughes subs are just awful, Bringing Crouch on I can understand as yet again Bony was having a mare, he can't be the answer to our problems. But Jon Walters why? What about Ramadan? Favoritism in full play unfortunately and it was criminal to keep Charlie on. Against Watford i'd suggest Imbula and Cameron or Cameron and Muni if Whelan isn't fit. Overall a pretty dull display in which we really needed to win to keep up our good run, we need to win against Watford or the doom folks will be out in full force. Anyway, keep the faith and all that. COYMP!

Does it worry the pair of you what Matty has had to say about our set pieces?

Bournemouth were a disgrace yesterday.
If that's what you call sportsmanship by rolling around and pretending to be injured, then you can add Bournemouth to the list of teams to hate.
I can't argue with the result cos we should have been 3 down in half an hour, but the rest of their antics made my blood boil.
Eddie howe will be a perfect replacement for that other buffoon Wenger.

We lost2-0 at home to Watford last season Russ with Deeney scoring his 1st premier league goal,he is now on 149 goals so we all know what will happen next week😄Hopefully it's a consolation in a defeat for them

The season so far has been a real let down. Yesterday brought back bad memories of home performances in August and September. I can't see Stoke making the top 10 this year because we seem like a real mish mash of a team and I'm losing a little bit of faith in the direction that Hughes is taking us

The balance of the squad is an issue but we also still have an issue with injuries. The shape of the team is reliant upon the players available.
We have lots of midfield players but many are injured or not really available so we struggle when certain key players are not available. Therefore without addressing this area of the team it will be difficult to progress further - the players we have a reasonable but it is about balance and that is the issue.
We are not making chances and without certain players we struggle to plug the gap(s) when we don't have the ball...
When Allen isn't in the number 10 role we don't appear to have the energy in the stacking third - Bojan doesn't have the same energy level even though a good player.
The main striker has to be mobile and hardworking if the number 10 position does not have a great deal of energy and endeavour. We need to obtain players who are suited to the system rather than shoehorning players into a system, which they are not suited to.
Injuries and or loss of form are a key issue - the attacking part of our play would improve with more energy supporting - energy and speed is essential when playing with a loan striker.

We play Watford on January the 3rd so whether the African trio will be still available is debatable but then we don't play another league game until the 14th at Sunderland so that's plenty of time for us to get strikers in

I hope we sign Indi and Grant on a permanent basis which would give loan options for at least one forward
Without Diouf, Bony and Sobhi we need to retain both Crouch and Walters
Do we have anyone from the squad ( u 21 players?) ready to step up to the first team?
Less of a risk if it's a forward introduced?
Agree it would be great to get Defoe on a short term loan - would he move if Sunderland start to fall away between now and Christmas?
I'm confident that players are being targeted for January, not that easy to get a deal through however.

With the players available during the ACN we need to be flexible and have a formation which gets the best out of those players available.
That would be playing with Crouch up front but he does play better with a partner (a mobile one) so a change of formation is required or we could have a frustrating period.
or we sign someone but always difficult getting the right play into a club in January - one who is capable, fit and ready to hit the ground running....
