Cracking second half, dodgy first half yet again but overall, some really exciting positives besides the result. We're getting creative, there were moments going forward we were nearly unplayable - admittedly against opponents low on confidence. Still great to see though.
BUT, first half especially we gave them far too much space, too much of the ball, were miles off closing them down - ok Sparky got that sorted at HT but we're 10 games into the season now, surely to God we can start games solid by this stage?
8* from me, includes a bonus point for the right arm round Wilf's shoulder and trusting him to come good.
add * if you were there please

Loses 2 points for the last 2 subs, gets 1 back for not replacing Shaq with Walters.

9 is a fair score. Hughes was screaming his lungs out in the first half, asking his players to push up the pitch. Can't really blame him if they're not doing it, can you? He made the smart choice of playing Adam instead of Bojan today & it really payed off. Thank god he didn't bring on Walters when Shaq got injured & his half time bollocking worked. Created loads of chances & aside from the goal, I can't really recall a single clear cut chance Swansea created so all in all I'm very happy with the manager's performance. Only criticism, why take off Bony when he's on a hattrick? Seemed to nullify our attack.

7.5 Solid , felt we sat off them a bit at times but glad he trusted Ramadan to come on so early .

Thanks to having a recognised winger on the bench, the effect of losing Shaq was minimised. Thought for a second he would bring on Walters for Shaq, so good on him for doing the right thing there. Used Walters well (close game when 2 up). Great decision to start Adam with loss of Cameron. Only negative was including Crouch at expense of Diouf.

Think Verlinden needs to be added to bench for WHU game in Arnies absence.

7, subs just aint his thing and taking bony off just before a swansea corner nearly resulted in us letting them back into the game. Sobhi was his only decent sub.

8 - forced to make some changes and made the right call for the match. Unforced changes at the end were head-scratchingly odd. Got a response from the team after his HT talk too. Good stuff.

Mainly for not going for the "safe" option in Walters and bringing on Sobhi instead for the injured Shaq.

1 point off for the strange substitutions he made in the 2nd half which basically nullified our attack.

Positives: Having the guts to bring on Sobhi, getting Imbula back involved, us winning the game scoring 3, trusted Adam which I honestly thought was suicide.
Negtives: Last 2 subs, slow pace of the game, leaving Diouf(pace) off a bench containing Crouch and Walters.

9 yes we sat off them first half which was a bit strange, yet we should have been in front at half time, Arnie really should have buried his chance after a sublime run behind the defence. I guess he would have started with Cameron if fit but Adam was really the only call to replace him and a midfield of Whelan Adam and Allen has a much move attacking look about it for such a game. I wasn't too unhappy with the subs, Hughes I think still worries about our ability to see a game out, in the past he would go gung ho for more goals but we can still be a bit fragile at the back and Crouch and Walters are experienced enough to help see the game out

5 didnt do anything good. didnt fuck up much. the team carries him. Ps 10* by the way. He set us up perfectly and we got a flier Then a series of individual mistakes gifted them a goal and got them right back into it. We then struggled to regain any control for the rest of the half but still should have gone in 2 or 3 up. He sorted them at half time and we cruised the second half. The subs were spot on as well. He showed his balls by bringing Sobhi on for Shaq and the Walters and Crouch subs were sensible. Bony had gone and Walters did OK harrying there defence and to criticise him for bringing Crouch on when we were defending a corner is a bit simple as he's probably our best defender of corners. All in all a very good day at the office for Mr Hughes.

I wasn't totally happy starting with Adam as cover for Cameron - but it worked - although Whelan did miss Cameron's energy and mobility. Ramadan for Shaq was the right sub even early in the game. I Can't argue with Walters and Crouch coming on late in the game. Crouch adds to our defensive ability from corners and provides an out ball upfield and Walters made a nuisance of himself late on - I can't say that any other subs would have been more effective given the state of the game.
I'd still like to see a midfield of Cameron - Allen and Bojan at some point - and Sparky has to decide how he will use Imbula (or sell him?) but the upturn in our fortunes continues and the use of Allen in the number 10 role is a stroke of genius - whatever bayernoatcake says!

8 should have been berating Adam for sitting so deep and standing off but other than that the line up was fine and it was good to see Sobhi get on over Walters.

9 Hard to be anything but pleased. Would have liked to have seen Allen drop back and replace Adam with Bojan and Whelan with imbula toward the end just to see how they would do together.
