One of my modern favourites at Stoke yet I still can't forget that weird cameo substitute effort against Everton when he tried his best to concede a penalty from the moment he came on to the moment he did.

The next ex Stokie to be part of the viva Port Vale revolution no doubt.

Thing is he probably made/makes a shit tonne of cash away from football in Asia and has built his profile there massively.
A part from that, he will probably earn more money back in England, even at Championship/League 1 level. He was on about £6k a week at Tampines!

One of my favorites of the time too, one of first players bar Ric with real ability on the ball. I think his career at Stoke was already in the toilet by that Everton game and he was running around all over the place desperately trying to have some impact and desperation is never a good thing.

Jermaine Pennant was great for us. And he loved his song!

Fair play to him
If I got given a contract for 1 year over there after uprooting your life etc and they ask you to take a cut I'd tell them to fuck off as well.
Never ever forget his time at Stoke. Fantastic.

One of my modern favourites at Stoke yet I still can't forget that weird cameo substitute effort against Everton when he tried his best to concede a penalty from the moment he came on to the moment he did. i used to love pennant the player but the day he came on as sub against everton he sunk to a new low.i am in the south stand right infront ot the pen incident and in my mind he deliberately chopped the player down to concede that last minute penalty. in fact he had to chop the player down twice to get the penno. this was no bad timed tackle or accident. i would love to know his reasons for his actions but i guess we will never know the truth, thankfully he never played again for stoke and rightly so.

Have we had a better corner taker in the Prem? Lawrence for me..... his problem being that he didn't have much else other than a cross/dead ball/occasional screamer in his bag

Still a fabulous place to live each to their own not everyone can settle abroad so easily, especially this far away from home. no matter how nice the place is. he had a year there and will have done great things for his image in the far east. he's probably got a year or 2 left in him. I would suspect him to show up short term in the Indian super league and when that finishes probably some short term contract at a team like Charlton or Bolton.

Lawrence was 1 of the few who stepped up without trouble and didn't need replacing for a while! the most important part of our promotion was him and fuller's chemistry.
