After 4 attempts on my phone, I frankly can't be arsed to fight it without add blocker roughly: Ryan Shawcross says Stoke's defence must keep on keeping clean sheets to lay the platform for Xherdan Shaqiri and Co to fire the club up the table. The captain admits the side had deserved criticism during a bad start to the season – conceding four times in three out of four games heading into mid-September. But he says Stoke have regrouped and worked hard to turn it around and that has started to show in results. The Potters have followed up their first clean sheet since March with another immediately as they sealed back-to-back wins. That tight defence has made sure that braces from Joe Allen, against Sunderland, and Xherdan Shaqiri, at Hull, were enough to earn wins. Shawcross said: "We got a fair bit of stick at the start of the season, much-deserved in all honesty. We had to regroup and I think we have done over the last few weeks. We've had a few positive performances and a couple of clean sheets and wins which we're delighted about. "We made a small tactical switch with Geoff (Cameron) going in next to Whelo (Glenn Whelan) and it's made us more solid in there. They are both doing a lot of work helping out the back four – then with the talent we've got going forward we're always going to win games if we can keep it tight at the back. "If we keep clean sheets then we can let these international players work their magic." Shawcross set up the first with a solid tackle and neat pass back wide to the right flank when Hull only half-cleared Shaqiri's corner – then watched as Shaqiri cut inside to dispatch a shot into the top right corner. Then the centre-half created a gap in Hull's defensive wall for Shaqiri to exploit for his second to seal the win early in the second half. "Shaq's a very talented player who's played in top teams and we're delighted to have him here," said Shawcross. "He's producing the goods at the moment with fantastic finishes and long may that continue." Bruno Martins-Indi is also settling in nicely next to Shawcross at the back. Shawcross, who has not really had a long-term regular partner since Robert Huth, hopes the back line is starting to settle. He said: "Bruno's another international player and if you look at the amount of players we've got of that calibre across the team, we've done well recruiting them. Hopefully we can have a long-standing relationship in the back four and keep some clean sheets."

Ryan and Indi are looking absolutely fantastic at the moment. Hull weren't the most attacking team, but you can see what Bruno does for Ryan.
Two very talented centre halves doing absolutely brilliant. 8 million to confirm was it? Hughes, sort it.
