The best English CB in these last 3/4 years. Pretty easily too.

Southgate has the corruption of the FA against him, Ryan has a zero percent chance of ever being mentioned in the media, nevermind being selected.

It's great to see him back playing with a spring in his step, and edge to his game and a smile on his face. God bless Bruno and Grant too. It's a huge relief and boost for the team.
Before his injury he had very much featured in the England discussion {and Wales?} I thought playing with Jack for Club would have increased Ryan's chances of a call up. 29 ain't too old is it. Still a chance?

Shawcross was in the league's top 11 for the fantasy this week. That Assist got him huge points! He'll be overlooked again and England only deserves to have shit defending when they do.

As much as I would love it to happen for Ryan, I can't help remembering him cutting a lonely figure on the subs bench just before the owl faced cuntlip sold him down the river, whilst all the other show ponies, gobshites and fuckwitts twatted around like fucking children in their clique. I don't want to see that happen again.

Fuck the English national team, just stay here Ryan and continue to regain your form and help the Stoke to a top 6 finish. Gouranga.

Ryan Mason got a cap while at Spurs. Tells you all you need to know. But I agree with a comment above, sadly for Ryan the twats didn't pick him when he truly was on the top of his game. We all know it's shit and shit stinks.

I don't want him anywhere near England. They are in a terrible state, personally it's a blessing in disguise that they ignore him.

Sadly he will not get a look in but his omission from the England squad is a blessing for Stoke. He will baring further injury be right up there with the greatest legends in the whole history of our club.He should be proud of what he is and has achieved and what it to come. I'm grateful to have witnessed another top quality player in the red and white stripes.

John Stones is the biggest case of the Emperor's New Clothes I've ever seen. Justin Bieber might make a great centreback one day, that doesn't mean he should be starting for one of the most ambitious sides in the country. Absolute collective insanity.

IMO the loathsom wenger played a massive part in the destruction of any chance of Ryan being England's regular CH with his pathetic, immature and quite frankly scandalous backlash during ramseygate five years ago. He painted a picture of Shawcross the thug and footballing anti- Christ who had no place on the same pitch as his poor little lambs.

He's a fantastic defender ... but not necessarily a fantastic technical footballer.
Unfortunately modern defenders are now judged on the latter rather than on their ability to keep the ball out of the net!
His chance with the national team was lost when he was used a scape goat against Sweden (when he was thrown on mid-game against a world class striker who had already ripped our defence apart).
As long as he stays fit and maintains his form for Stoke I couldn't really give a damn about England.

Like the performances we have seen from England's top technical defenders, Stones and Smalling, this weekend. If Stones had put that ball into row z instead of thinking he is George Best. City would have collected 3 points.

The fact he plays for an unfashionable club probably doesn't help either. Shawcross and Scott Dann have been two of the most consistent English defenders over the past 6/7 years.

Shawcross has been through a period of injuries and loss of form (the two probably being linked to each other.) He hasn't really been worthy of an International call up for the past year or so. It's a travesty he wasn't called up before that though, when he was performing consistently at a very high level.
He looks like he's getting back to his best now. Long may that coninue.

Regrettably England will have to fail again at a tournament, and there will have to be no more "young hopefuls" coming along for Ryan to be even considered, by which time he will be deemed "too old".
Great shame; I hope I'm proved wrong. I would love to see him playing for England, along with Jack. When did Stoke last have 2 current England players?
