As chiefdelilah rightly said, it's too early to start taking advice from Winston Wolfe, but over the past 4 games we've clearly turned a corner. It doesn't eradicate all of the concerns that went before. Any doubts that we'd go down have now been calmed though. It's too early to suggest we'll finish in the top 10 again but there's plenty of evidence that gives us confidence there's at least 3 teams worse than us. The only criticism today (similar to last week against Sunderland) was that we didn't kill the game off and get the 3rd or 4th goal. Having said that, when you're down there and you're struggling, results are king. It'll be ace to sit down with a cold beer tonight and watch some top drawer goals from Shaqiri on Match of the Day. It makes it all worthwhile 👍

Swansea are better than both Sunderland and Hull
Got to fancy Bony and Allen to score
I'll take four points from next two games.

Perhaps we could just as easily phrase this as ...
We seem to have turned a corner since Lee Grant went in goal

What a negative assessment.

Sales of manpons in ST postcodes are down significantly. Until about wednesday and the thought of the swansea game for some kicks in and the knicker wetters rejoice at the thought we might get tonked on tv. Ps the kids are now off school for a week so in the words of arnies fake head in total recall "get ready for a suprise" as it could get weirder than normal

The news that Jack isn't far away is a huge boost too. Hmm. I don't think Jack can simply walk back into the team. Grant has done so incredibly well, he has seized his chance, and who's to say how much of our improvement might not be down to him? If we are still winning when Jack's ready, should we upset that apple cart? It's not a question I am able to easily answer.

More solidity in midfield - teams aren't walking straight through us as they were at the start of the season. If we were sharper up front could have done a good deal of repair work to our goal difference. Certainly improved but a bit of a way to go yet - a few better tests coming up.

No corner turned yet
This has all been entirely predictable -and we have a run of games much more suited to us getting points in the bag
Mark Hughes has neever doubted this would happen
and - long may this continue

We've improved the goal difference by four in two games, that's a pretty decent turnaround by any standards.

There must be issues with pre season preparations because the team were clearly not up to speed the last two seasons.

The solidity of Grant in goal, the blossoming Ryan and BMI partnership, and Geoff and Glenn holding in front of them, means the three attacking midfielders can concentrate far more on attacking, knowing that there is someone protecting the back door. Surprise surprise, they are now doing their best work in the final third and looking far more menacing. A fit and firing forward is all we need now to really click into gear.
It is a long way back into this team for Imbula and Bojan now, although I would love us to have only one holder, with Joe box to box and Bojan at his best conjuring up magic as part of the BMX trio - if everyone does their job this is surely our best system to give us the best of both worlds? Would anyone else risk this against the likes of Swansea at home?

I am not sure there was much of a corner to turn, just a few tweaks here and there such as Grant 4 Given, Indi settling in, Shaq returning from injury, Cameron providing an additional defensive shield and, let's be honest, weaker opposition he last two games.

If we can bring in that beast of a defensive mid to replace Glenn and Geoff and Bojan and Bony can find their form, then we'll have the best team in the Prem outside of the top six IMHO.

I'd have sacked Hughes after the Palace match. Guess this is why Coates is a multi millionaire businessman and football club owner and I'm not . We're not totally out of the woods yet and some concerns remain such as our inability to get our strikers on the score sheet (and on that subject, Bony's form in general). But crucially we've stopped haemorrhaging goals and found a way of playing that allows us to create and score goals. The one caveat to this is we've just beaten the two teams who are likely to be the worst 2 teams in the division this season. We now need to show that we can also beat the mid table sides and that will determine which half of the table we finish in this season.
