Been impressed by him since he was moved to midfield! Right now I would even pick him before Whelan!

Its the role it looked like tp had signed him for when he made his mom debut against the arse then didn't play him there anymore.

err ---- this has been obvious since before he EVEN signed for us - its just we have almost never
used him in his preferred position
So, this to me is: a 'no shit Sherlock ?' thread

Outstanding again today, and he's played a massive part in the improved results and performances over the last few weeks. The likes of Allen and Shaqiri are rightly getting a lot of credit, but Cameron's role shouldn't be overlooked. As somebody else mentioned earlier in the thread, would love to see him alongside Affelay when he returns to fitness.

He's rewatching the entire game in slow-motion and trying to find the slightest hint of a Cameron mistake that he can bang on about for the next twenty pages of this thread.

Similar to how Bony's importance has gone unnoticed for me, with the focus on his lack of goals. Its made a huge difference having a back to goal striker to hold the ball up and give the attacking midfield 3 time to get up the pitch. The whole starting 11 have played their part over the last 2 wins and they are making it very hard to see anyone other than Butland strole back into the team over any of them if they can keep it up.

He surprises me how comfortable he is on the ball. He doesn't have the lung busting runs in his locker that Imbula has but more than makes up for it with his defensive qualities. He's just a great squad member who is getting a well-deserved run in the team.

Just what we needed at a time when we were shipping goals . Him and Whelan give the defence great protection and helping the team gain in confidence

Great result and said so many times before he is a huge asset .apparently The plan last year was to post him in this role but the centre half issued never made it possible .
Great result and hopefully a clean bill of health for Swansea .

Outstanding today looks great in the role would love to see Afellay besides him when fit. The reason we've looked solid is having two sitting, if Affellay comes in I think it would mess things up again, there's no need to change it unless we get improvements on Cameron and Whelan.

For me. I found myself so many times shouting FFS Whelan!!!!
The more I see Cameron there the more impressed I'm getting.
The only change I can see happening is Whelan being dislodged. The myth that he offers protection is being shown up by Cameron thus meaning Whelan isn't offering much
I wish Affelay was fit as he'd be replacing Whelan IMO

The thing is I'm not. I've been a massive fan of his but week in week out he's mis placing key passes, getting caught in possession, constantly passing backwards. Cameron is a breath of fresh air. He gets stuck in. Is strong, athletic, goes forward. Rarely gets caught in possession and is generally positive. If we're going to push on into a real outfit we need a partner for Cameron not Whelan. Imbula I guess is that man but it's up to Hughes when he comes back into the fold!

He's not disciplined enough to do the DM role on his own. Looking good alongside Glenn though.

His job is to pick up loose balls at the edge of the area and pass it to somebody near, to slow down the opposition attacks and he does this well.

Having two holding midfielders allows Allen to roam and Shaq to drift more central. Playing Imbula/Whelan left us far too open and we paid for it

Surely a Premier league footballer should be tasked with more to do? We need one DM not two. I think when Hughes is convinced we've turned a corner he'll be abit more imaginative which means sacrificing Whelan or Cameron for Imbula or Bojan So, my question to you is.. who would you drop when that time comes? And I think we both know the answer to that one...

I've always liked him. He has a similar build to Nzonzi, granted not even 1/10th the player but he can put it about and motor between boxes. He's hopefully also athletic enough to stay fit.
