In the model world, which did you prefer as a child growing up? Planes - airfix kits, remote control planes, etc Trains - hornby, etc Automobiles - scalextric, remote controlled cars, etc. For me it was always trains, from the first time my nan bought me a train set, I was hooked. Soldiers and tanks. Scalextric. 5 Years to think about it 🤔

Never had much luck with models. Cars more than anything else I guess....and Heman, Monsters in my pocket, top trumps, etc from the 80s.

During lockdown and a jobless 12 months I attempted a “beginners” rally car model. Spent ages on it, looked shite. Chucked it in the bin 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm currently housebound (on crutches) recovering from breaking my left heel in a fall two weeks ago. My wife thought it would be something for me to do so at the weekend she nipped into Hobbycraft and bought me a Tamiya German Hanomag (half track armoured vehicle) complete with 5 or 6 figures, and the paints etc. I haven't done one of these kits for around 50 years but it's actually quite enjoyable. I've got about another 6 weeks till I'm more mobile so I reckon I'll be doing one or two more of these model kits.

Chucked it in the bin 🤷🏻‍♂️ I remember years ago my dad spent a small fortune on building a remote control rally type car, amazing detail really, independent suspension, souped up engine, custom paint job the works really. When he turned the car on and before he had chance to turn on the hand held remote control the car absolutely screamed across the living room floor and disintegrated into pieces when hitting the wall, turned out that the young lad across the road was in the street playing with his remote control car at the time, we can assume that he was on the same frequency.
