Doesn't Neville cite this game as a major turning point in realising he was past it and needed to retire? Knew he should have been off

It's up there !
As is Taylor for changing his mind and disallowing Bojan goal against arsenal for reasons only he knew...or invented.
And Wiley ruling out Ryan's late header v man city when Given came out and clattered into him.
There will be many more....

We were robbed of one of the greatest mentals of all time. We were up against 12 men all night in that match.

I like the fact that fergie knew he should have walked so made him go out for the second half kick off then subbed him.

Sidibe disallowed goal at Villa Park Remember that well. Similar to one we had disallowed at Everton..possibly Tuncay ? Both ruled out for excessive breathing on an opposition player. Those dirty Stoke bastards !

I still think Delap's sending off just isn't a booking never mind a sending off.
Shawcross on Ramsey. Not a sending off either.

To be fair Jonathan Woodgate should of been sent off at Wolves not long after for 2 very bookable offences.

The game at 'Castle the other year was filled with them. Wank penos, daft sendings off, balls clearly out-of-play but allowed to cross it in, obstructions, off-sides, it had the lot... Every single one of them against us! ... Although it did also give me one of my favourite ever footballing moments when Hughsie tossed his coat over his shoulder & up into the atmosphere

We'd of gone on to score half a dozen against a ragged Arsenal side, that I have no doubt. We've had some real shockers. Struggle to remember big ones going for us, which is convenient!

Atkinson and his officials at St James' Park was 90 minutes of pure shite, inept, bordering on scandalous decision making.

That refereeing display was absolutely shambolic. Inexplicable decision after another and 1 of the softest double yellows you would ever see.

Wiley disallowing a last-minute goal for absolutely no reason, bizarrely saying it's illegal to challenge a keeper in the six-yard box, after a game full of outrageous bias, is the most likely example of a ref deliberately influencing a result I've seen.
I watched the game on tv and the close-ups showing Wiley's communications with the players were a giveaway that he had an agenda which went beyond the typical pandering to the big club.

Worst decision was Atkinson's parents ( not married, cuz he is a bastard ) having a shag on or around June 30 1970...9 Months later the little cunt popped out...Best part of him landed in the bucket.
