3 take aways from that game.
1. Judging by that last goal, Joe Allen is the best player to set Arnie up with a through-ball. 2. Arnie has a daft little dance that he saves for his Austrian goals. 3. "We're the middle, we're the middle, we're the middle of the Boothen end" is a well known tune in Vienna and even gets played over the loud speakers.

Let's be perfectly frank here. There are a handful of people on here who don't like Arnie for one reason and one reason only. Tony Pulis wouldn't have touched him.. Let's be perfectly frank. There are a handful of people on here who actually watch Stoke matches and they know that Arnie is unpredictable and unreliabe despite his undoubted talent. Unpredictable? Yes of course he is.. Unreliable? Behave !!

I've seen some shite posted on here over the last ten years, some of it by me. But this, this is literally the most ridiculous post I have ever seen. You must smoke crack to compare Arnie with Ritchie. I've rattled my brain to think of another reason why you would make this comparison, there isn't one. I'm still struggling as to how he pulled Ritchie out of the hat .....he last played over 40 years ago !! Because he's a massive WUM. No more, no less. That's the only thing that can explain it.

Behave he is nowhere near 'world class'
When he put himself in the shop window in the summer no one else thought he was world class too.
This is literally the most ridiculous thread I have ever seen

This is literally the most ridiculous thread I have ever seen No he isn't "world class" ..certainly not compared to ya Bales or Ronaldos. He is a special talent though and we are lucky to have him at Stoke City.Despite his flaws and inconsistencies he his the type of player I want to watch. It's sad though that some, due to their agendas, would happily have him out of the club tomorrow.

You don't have to believe that to disagree. I'm a big Arnie fan and love flair players but he's not even close to world class and is unreliable as often he'll be useless. If he wasn't he'd be gone by now as his good days are great.

Do you expect the players we sign in this day and age to come here because they love the club and stay til they're 45?

Is it Rob? Is it really? Come on now mate be honest ;D How does one define 'world class' beardy? Incredibly special players that could walk into any team in the world and be one of if not the best player .... consistently, not just 'on his day'. Or something close to that. If Arnie is world class there's hundreds about.

I'm just more sympathetic with people who want to try and make the argument that he is than the Senojbors of the world who can't stand him because life just hasn't been as fun since Tony left.

There's world class - like Messi and Ronaldo - and there are the flawed geniuses - players capable of the sublime and the ridiculous often in the same game. Arnie is the latter - the sort of player that some fans don't get and others the reason they go to the game.
Personally I could even live with the stupid dance.

Messi,Ronaldo,Suarez,Bale to name a few who are world class.Should Arnie be named in the same breath as these footballers. No where close. In fact he's a million miles away.Love watching Arnie, some of his touches and goals he's contributed over the last few seasons have been sensational, but to suggest he's world class is a ridiculous statement

It's been a while since I trotted out one of my most repeated lines, and this is as good a place as any to dust it down, so here goes...
I go to football matches to see players like Arnie.
Man, that felt good! World class? Probably not, though I don't think it's as ridiculous an idea as some are making out. Worth the admission money? For me, yeah definitely.

haha world class is laughable. hes great for Stoke City and Austria but that kinda hints at his level. Stoke aint ever gonna win the Champions League and Austria aint ever gonna win the World Cup.
Lets just enjoy him as a great Stoke player to watch

Pick a world 11 then another and another and another and another and he wouldnt be in any of them. He's a great player but this world class statement gets thrown around far too easily.

Not for me. A nice player who does some exciting things and pulls off the odd bit of brilliance. World Class means the brilliance is more than occasional. World Class players do not separate themselves from defenders - like Arnie can - only to put the ball 20 rows up the Boothen - which Arnie does with regularity. Great players put it on frame far more often. World Class players hit the net. See for example Coutinho as of late. (and not saying Coutinho is World Class - just that he buries the chance)
And although he does impress me with frequent and aggressive forays back to win the ball - I love when he makes the swim move to get ballside of the player - he generally does not play enough team defence to be considered World Class. Very often he is out of position and it causes issues for Glen and the back 4. This goes double when he and Shaq are on at the same time. Also goes down too often for me.
For me he is in just the right place. He never sees the pitch at a "bigger" club.

Who really gives a toss? I'm just happy he's at my club.
He's a great player for us, capable of the sublime and the ridiculous usually in the space of 5 minutes. Love watching him play and, despite what people think, he puts in the hard yards.

But still our most important attacking player who has the ability and bollocks to win matches at the top level.

Arnie'd make the finest wing back in the Prem. His defensive stats back that up. Just a matter of time.

Arnie's 1st touch is ridiculous. It doesn't matter where the ball comes from, he kills it effortlessly.
