One was on the other day to say what an attrocious game he had at the weekend, but suppose they'll have the get out that it wasn't a stoke game last night. To be fair he was atrocious for us on Sunday, but I'll never understand why Arnie has so many critics, not just on here but down at the ground he gets slated for not putting enough effort in. Mentalists the lot of em. Comfortably our best and most influential player over the last couple of seasons and we are lucky as fuck to be watching a player of his ability play for us.

I am not so sure he was atrocious. He was involved in some good play & put a defensive shift in too. Yes he made a couple of errors but that is standard for any player really. In a game like that where you are defending for long periods, it is unlikely that a winger / attacker is going to shine. I agree about the rest though - we have so many players that are lauded for being bang average (or worse) yet the players of real quality are battered if they do not score a hat-trick every week.

Arnie is a long way from being world class even if Dean Saunders was being serious. He is a very talented player but way too inconsistent to be considered world class. He has to produce on a far more regular basis than he does at present and score more goals than he does.

Bony, Shaqiri, Arnie, Allen.. it's all going to click against Sunderland and we'll bag 4 or 5.. I'm convinced.. sort of. Assuming we keep playing 4-2-3-1 our front 4 should be: SHAQ - BOJAN - SOBHI ARNIE

Well said homer32..that's my point exactly ,you are not and never will be world class if you are inconsistent... One good game for his country oh please,do me a favour..what did he do in the Euros..any one with any brains knows he was hoping for a good tournament to put himself in the window to get a better deal with a bigger club..guess what it didn't happen,so he signed the contract that had been on the table for god knows how long, stateing that he always wanted to sign for Stoke..yeah right,so I don't get the love fest on here for him !!!talented yes when he his getting the better of the opposition.... But when someone has the measure of him,you see a frustrated Arnie...the one that throws himself to the floor looking for a foul every time he loses the ball...do we need to see that from a Stoke player with his talent....it seems that most on here do...not sure the rest of the team would agree.and on that note...Shaqiri ,please don't you start doing it,as you did against Smalling, you're better than that,we need all eleven giving 100% for the cause to get us up the league..does this sound like Someone who wants Stoke to lose ,if I wanted them to lose I would say put Imbula back in,also Bojan,Given, for starters ,Jesus Christ...honestly.

Arnie on his day is a very good player. Stoke do not have and likely never will have any 'word class' players.

World class? What have people been smoking.
He was utter tripe in the Euros and is typically a goal in every 4 frontman if that
Couldn't lace Ritchie's boots

What a bunch of misearable sods. Arnie is brilliant and worth the ticket price alone. If you don't like it, Port Vale is just up the road.

If you don't think 11 PL goals last season from out wide(in a team not exactly free scoring)is a decent return then you must have very high standards.

There are a handful of people on here who don't like Arnie for one reason and one reason only.
Tony Pulis wouldn't have touched him..

I love Arnie and, since Ric, he's comfortably been our most influential attacker....who is also capable of putting in a top notch defensive shift.
But "world class"!? Suppose it depends on the context. A few more performances for us and Austria like the other night and perhaps.
But he won't be here for much longer if that is the case!

Arnie is a great talent but he only uses his talent when he wants to. He will play well in internationals and against the big teams in the prem. It will be interesting to see whether he plays that well in our next 3 games because we need him to

Arnie certainly has talent, but 'world class' he isn't IMHO. Firstly, he IS inconsistent; but furthermore, my biggest criticisms of him are (a) he occasionally goes down far too easily (assumably looking for a free kick), and (b) when a free kick is NOT forthcoming, he chucks a petulant 'hissy-fit' Only an opinion, though

This ...in a nutshell mate And the fact he's no John Walters and that's who they think he replaced ....don't forget all the defensive work Walters does and Arnie doesn't . It really is sad how they try and justify their dislike of him when really it's for the 2 reasons stated . No player is judged on his own merits on here ...it's all he's no etherington, Huth, Wilkinson etc etc . It's pathetic

But this, this is literally the most ridiculous post I have ever seen. You must smoke crack to compare Arnie with Ritchie. I've rattled my brain to think of another reason why you would make this comparison, there isn't one.
