A breath of fresh air to see Shaqiri back on the wing. Arnie, Shaq and Joe Allen were fantastic today. Joe Allen gets MOTM for me, but only just. Good to see Grant in goal, looked very confident and great in the air. We are a much better side with Shaqiri and Glen Johnson playing.
What a shame to concede so late. We were in control for the majority of the game, but we look shaky defensively. As for defending set-pieces... well I don't have the vocabulary to explain how poor we are. The team is very close to clicking and should start picking up important results soon, but why does it always have to take this long? So frustrating. Hughes gets an 8/10 from me.

Our best form of defence is attack, hughes let the team down with negative subs. Much better performance but the defence is totally out of confidence, so why try to see the game out under current circumstances? If he had sobhi on the bench, he could have come on for shakiri. Mark hughes really needs to stop making the same mistakes as last season if we are to progress.

I still think Hughes got it right today, we need to keep playing like that and we will pick up some form and get results.

Our shot to goal ratio, we dont generate enough shots to score more than 1 in a game. However, it takes 1 slip-up at the back or lack of concentration for us to concede. We are in the worst of scenarios. Either one of the ends needs to change. We need to tighten up at the back or rectify the need for a clinical striker (which is the same issue we have had since we got promoted)

I would not suggest doing this all the time, because sometimes you are better off seeing a game out, but when you are dominating the game the way we were, why give them hope of equalising. Our defence were clearly uncomfortable defending and mark hughes yet again cost us points by making poor decisions.
