...where are we then?
Easy to think at the end of today we will arrive at some great climax, the culmination of events, an outcome in one way or another. But in my experience such days often end with a lack of clarity, shades of grey, no real definitive conclusions and on we go.
So there is my forecast.

Even to the detriment of us not scoring as that will be a massive improvement from the shit that we have seen with all these drubbings that we are getting of late

With united away coming up it means we are guaranteed to be in the bottom three for at least three weeks a clean sheet would be good but would take a2-1 win all day long

A 0-0 where we batter them, look less shambolic at the back but just can't find a breakthrough is something to cling on and build to. A 0-0 we get away with by the skin of our teeth and require unlikely heroics from Given would be a lot less encouraging. Though even then we'd have sort of stopped the rot you could argue?

A good performance yes. That would be ideal if only getting a point.

I agree we could build on a 0-0 provided the performance was decent. As you suggest I didn't expect to find the words 'heroics' and 'Given' in the same sentence On that theme with regard to the goal keeping situation post Butland's injury last season, I was thinking about this and don't laugh, but I don't think there have been many total howlers from Haugaard and Given, perhaps 1 or 2 but no more than that, instead just a general sinking sense that any half decent shot on our goal is going to finish up in the back of the net. It must be absolutely soul destroying for our back line

1point difference isn't to bad considering though a clean sheet would be a massive confidence boast.

I'd take a draw, no question.
Not sure if it would be enough to keep Hughes in a job though.

A draw changes nothing whatsoever - I'm afarid Mark still has to go.
TP had a couple of good results just before he was sacked.
Our long term survival is best served by someone else.
If we lose I hope we don't see a repeat of the anger towards Hughes. Let him leave with some dignity.

0-0 I won't be happy with that. I want a win, nothing else IMO

My Super 6 will be knackered then, gone for 0-2.
Early goal and hit on the counter around the 80 minute mark, masses walking out, massive boos, Hughes resigns..

As long as we don't get walloped, I want to see a performance that was better than Wednesday's - which in turn was better than the preceding game. If that happens then you can argue Hughes is doing something right.
