Sparky makes the same noise I do these days as he sits down for each of these conferences, a guttural sound from a sharp exhalation of breath, I think I first introduced it when I passed 40 Yes and also getting up slowly, just checking all bones are in the right place before attempting full movement. Usually accompanied by a sigh. It's sad. there have been times when Sparky has looked terribly uncomfortable in the press conf. Awkward breathing etc/ None of that now, seems to be positively relishing the challenge. He does attempt to address the questions put to him which is quite unusual for these things. Some managers simply rock up with a few things they want to say and just say them irrespective of the questions.

We know he can talk the talk.
Tomorrow is time to start walking the walk.
Is there a single Baggies player who could justify a place in our side?
If Hughes gets the team organised and motivated, then WBA are there for the taking.

The gaffer appears to be in a upbeat mood considering our position at this time. I liked his quip (with a touch of aggression in his tone for a change) "If we win tomorrow, which we are more than capable of by the way".
He's bang on! With the personnel we have, we are more than capable of beating the baggies at home tomorrow. Let's just hope that our team on the day think so too and play like "winners" from the off, right up until the final whistle.
"To be perfectly honest" Mark, my take on it all is, Stoke will beat West Brom tomorrow. How things pan out for the rest of the season is anyone's guess.
Let's just hope we manage to maintain our top ten status for another high profile season in the PL.

Feel a lot more settled after that. He's supremely calm and confident which is making me feel better.
Proof will be in the pudding.

Calm and assured, no hint of that exaggerated breathing he does when feeling the pressure. Why don't they sort some proper mic's etc at these press conferences> Go on Sparky. Sparky makes the same noise I do these days as he sits down for each of these conferences, a guttural sound from a sharp exhalation of breath, I think I first introduced it when I passed 40 I'm never sure if it for my own benefit or to let others know I have successfully sat down! Same here, although for me it's not so much of a sitting down, but rather a controlled flop and grunt hoping the chair breaks my fall. And yeah, some microphones on the press side would help.

The only part that concerns me is the comment about being better off than last season if we win.
Points wise we may be, goal difference is a million miles off. Last year we were in games, this year we've been tonked too often.

He has to say this for the benefit of the players. I can't imagine why he would say anything different, even if doesn't believe it.
