I love new fans, like I've taken my kids down tonight. I like to teach them to be there for the team through the good and bad times. They haven't seen us other than been in the top division. They enjoyed the game, we tried and made chances, sometimes these things happen. It's about supporting the team, not giving them shit, running off supporting other teams. If we are all positive towards the team while they are on the pitch it can only have a positive outcome. Or we could just have a full stadium like you want all slating the team and that will work. When did I say I wanted them all slating the team? I said it's generally a good sign when a ground is full because it indicates success. Our core (I mean die hard every game fanbase) is below 20k, that is a fact. When we got promoted our average attendance was 16k. These kids might go to every game for all we know, and we're giving it large to appeal to their mates. Course we all want a successful team, but people expecting 100% positivity in hard times are naive, we don't even have that during the good times. Waddo was nearly hounded out in the 70s, Pulis never had 100% support at the club, and Hughes was condemned before even arriving by some. It's easy to pick on kids for moaning when in reality everyone does it at some point. I'd rather 16k giving 100% than the rest slagging off the team. Now stop making excuses for theses dick heads,we don't need them.

Yes, what are all the words to that? Quite a few lads sat down in the concourse in the 2nd half at Palace and sang that song, it is indeed very catchy *clears throat Well we never win at home and we never win away We lost last week and we lost today We don't give a fuck coz we're all pissed up SCFC....OK Excellent, I can't get it out of my head either, the genius is in the simplicity, and an affirmation of an on-going committment to the club in the last line, lovely stuff, its a winner !

So they're pretenders, but they came to league cup game on a tuesday in an attendance of just over 10,000......guess the real supporters were elsewhere.... It's just kids, can't blame them for not being old enough to remember the 3rd tier jesus. 'The 3rd Tier Jesus' would be an ace name for a band...

They always love a rendition of 'fuck the Vale and the IRA' too, a favourite of mine especially with kids singing it.

Remember going to wigan when we were on a shocking run a few years ago. The ground was so empty at Wigan we parked the car by the turnstiles. Stoke had about 1000 fans in that massive stand at the side of the pitch.
Fans were singing "we're shit and we're sick of it"
Then Gifton scored lol.

People are only picking up on it now because we're on a bad run in the top flight.

Didnt go last night so will downgrade mine and my lads standing from " real supporters " to part time Maybe i am being a bit precious here but if you support a team you do so through thick and thin If fans out there think that having a few sherberts and shouting abuse at players of the club they support is ok then they are ( in my opinion -- and irrespective of age ) fucking bell ends who would be better off fucking right off and taking their twattery with them I saw it at Everton and was quite close to getting myself into trouble with an absolute pissed as a fart troll who appeared to have only 1 agenda and that was to abuse anyone in a red and white shirt !! If he had been wearing the colours of Everton he would no doubt have been smacked or ejected -- or smacked and ejected You may see these players as overpaid and fair game -- In truth it is not the players you are pissing off -- It is the part time supporters ( over 40 years now ) like myself

It was a few kids at the back of stand, hardly a red card protest or season ticket in the managers face.

We all do it -- some of us do it because we dont want conflict - some of us do it because we have come to accept twats being twats -- we accept this as normal ? Stewards ignore it unless it is racist or homophobic Collectively though we all have standards of behaviour that we know to be acceptable BUT think we can get away with trolling - abusing because we believe are hidden in a crowd ? Surely these same people dont act like this when with their mums and dads ???? . I fucking despair when excuses are made for dickheads

I'm a sentinel stand season ticket holder and went in the boothen as a change and it was a joke, booing, stupid chants as mentioned but only the minority and stupid kids which wasn't needed and it kicked off a bit, I agree on the shooooooottttt thing, never on most of the time. The best was when it fell on Imbula's right and there was a shout of shoot and then a bollocking when he didn't. Yes Imbula should use his right foot. But we know he doesn't. Doing that sort of shit isn't going to help anyone as he can hear it. Yep imploring him to shoot when the pass to him wasn't on his left side and he hasn't got a right foot, and then booing him when he shifted it onto his left foot (the only thing he was ever going to do) was just plain daft.

Jesus - when has being at a football ground had to be such a po-faced experience. It's a football ground not a Masonic Lodge. If the players and staff are so thin skinned that they let that put them of their game or preparation for the next then it's now wonder we're in the shit.
As far as I'm concerned irreverence is a fundamental aspect of fan culture - long may it continue - otherwise we're all indanger of becoming the media friendly clones Sky would just love us all to be.

I was in the Seddon and I definitely heard "how shit must you be we're winning 1-0" I doubt the players will be affected by it mind. No different to everyone singing "how shit must you be we're winning away" in the Pulis years.

Can't deny the truth though eh?? Shouldn't you be crayoning "In Wenger We Rust" onto an old bedsheet or something? If there were prizes for slagging off your own manager then you fuckers might find yourself in a Premier League you could actually win.

I think it is. I disagreed with the booing but singing that imo is a bit amusing especially if you can't hear it loudly (I couldn't and I sit in the Sentinel Stand). They wouldn't have heard it either. What I did hear from the Boothen was shout of shoot at fucking stupid times, booing at the end (me and another bloke went mental at you (the royal you) at the end and general fuckwittery tbh. I'm a sentinel stand season ticket holder and went in the boothen as a change and it was a joke, booing, stupid chants as mentioned but only the minority and stupid kids which wasn't needed and it kicked off a bit, I agree on the shooooooottttt thing, never on most of the time. I wouldn't go in the boothen end if you gave me a free season ticket. Last time i went in there, a few years ago, it was shit. Idiots shouting stuff and just generally shit compared to the south stand.

I was sitting next to them and they weren't abusing the team, they were the only ones creating some atmosphere and starting all the songs off. We were singing mark Hughes barmy army, the shawcross chant and even came up with a song for martins indi, gave Ramadan tons of support when he came on and same for all the players. So you can't say we weren't supporting the team just because of the fact that someone started singing we're fucking shit towards the end and even that is just a bit of banter and understandable when we've been dicked every week...

I remember 'we're shit, and we're sick of it...' being a weekly chant in the 97/98 relegation season. Despite our shocking start to the season I think it's a bit too early for those kinds of gallows humour songs when we've still got easily enough time to get out of trouble. They should be reserved for mid season and beyond when it's become clear the players don't give a shit and we're going down.

Spot on, I'm sure they would have started the game giving their full support to the team and throughout the game. Yes maybe towards the end frustration set in and they sang were fucking shit (going on current form they are 100% correct by the way) To slag them off though is just small minded. Football is a game which splits opinion and everyone is entitled to it. When did football and chants from the terrace become so censored as to what people can and can't sing. They turned up and payed their money which was a lot more than other people did so let them get on with it. We have more pressing concerns on the pitch to worry about what fellow fans do and don't sing I'd say.

I've been singing it at most games since Christmas but it is just me! It makes me laugh. Why though? It's a dick thing to do and if you have been singing that at Stoke since Christmas during our matches I have lost A LOT of respect for you. "mate" Life isn't twitter and anecdotes. We are not Leeds United either... I am disappointed in your negativity during matchdays, you should be ashamed of yourself. I cant even comprehend slagging the club like that, but I guess I wouldn't ever get along with you anyway. Carry on slagging Fuck is happening???

When stoke go down We'll all go down We'll get pissed on the ale We'll come back up And win the cup And kick fuck out the vale!
Now that was a bloody good chant
