With very little occupying my mind other than our wretched form, I am thinking that our issues are a combined force of the worst of both Hughes and pulis.
The old brigade are utter shite. Words can't even begin to describe how shite Whelan, Walters and Cameron were today.
Our old plodders can't even plod anymore.
However, as bad as they are, the new brigade are hardly faring much better. Imbula is hopeless, shaqiri is tantamount to useless given his inability to a) stay fit and b) contribute anything meaningful when he is fit and bojan is in wretched form, devoid of spirit, endeavour and physicality whilst Joe Allen is becoming more reminiscent of dean whitehead with each passing week.
Add into that mix a goalkeeper whose was pretty hopeless in his pomp and is now even worse and it is a sorry state of affairs that shows no signs of being solved easily.
Our dependable campaigners (Ryan, Whelan and pieters) aren't very dependable right now and big question marks hang over all 3 of them.
All the ingredients are there for another giant sized stoke City cock up!

It's hard to believe after this long in the premier league we still relying on John , glen and Geoff to reach the levels what's required in the premier league . I think because sparky played till he was 38 he thinks others can to and that I think will cost him his job

The astonishing thing to me is that Mark Hughes and his staff must watch enough football to realise that the game at this level is now all about power and pace. They have singularly failed to rectify our alarming deficiencies in these areas, despite having three years and plenty of money to sort it.
On the day Hughes was appointed, who in their right mind would have expected Jon Walters to still be playing on the right wing over three years later, Geoff Cameron to be playing centre half or Glenn Whelan to be the only defensive midfielder worthy of the tag at the club?

The worst thing is I don't think MH looks like turning it around as from todays team selection he doesn't even seem to see the obvious weaknesses. I know he has limitations but I genuinely believe that Imbula would have given us a lot more than Whelan. When I see us play it's almost like we've had no tactical input. Giving away 2 set piece goals in the first 10 minutes was criminal. I just pray he goes for it V WBA rather than continues to go with something that clearly isn't working. Please no more Walters, Whelan and Cameron. For me we have to go for something very different whether it's a front 2 of Diouf and Bony or a 4231 with Adam and Allen. Going forward we need to freshen things up massively and start playing our best 11 players in there natural positions. If all fit going with that principal I'd go with this lineup and stick with it.
Butland
Bardsley Ryan Indi Johnson
Imbula Allen
Sobhi Shaq Arni
Bony
Lets give the other side something to think about.

Shambolic, stupidity management. For 3 years,no defence no spine, money pissed up the wall,no proper tactics,no players coming from under 18 team or so called under 23 team in first team squad.if I was Mr coates "team" who supposed to run this now multi. Million pound club, you lost 80 percentage. Of the. Real fans again, take your. Eye off the ball especially in the premier.4 year contracts for average premier football players is utter stupidity, and leads to complacency that we are currently going through

Against WBA I want to see Hughes have faith in his signings, to play a robust yet attacking formation and to give the Baggies what for.
It has been said that at home to WBA with Pulis in charge couldn't even be written in the stars but the right team and game plan could result in a HUGE boost to the team and what happens this season. If he continues to show faith - or rely on - Pulis players when he has others at his disposal brought in over the last three years, Pulis will be a having a mental boner for ninety minutes. Sir Alex got that football was a game played between the ears, where confidence and kidology goes a long way. Arguably, Pulis gets that too. Hughes needs to get that pretty sharpish n' all.
