Before today I was clinging to the hope that a combination of bad luck and tough fixtures was responsible for our dreadful start to the season. Now I can see that there are much deeper problems than that- the team are totally disorganised, bereft of confidence, don't look fit and don't look like they have a clue what they're supposed to be doing out there. There's individual talent for sure, but they don't resemble a team in nay way, shape or form. Ultimately we need someone who can organise them, make them hard to beat and grind out a few scrappy wins. Hughes doesn't seem to have a clue how to do this, so we need somebody who does. We can't go back to Pulis- that'd be short-term thinking in the extreme and would lead to all-out warfare in the stands. I'd honestly rather go down than experience that again. Steve Bruce has a track record of starting well then getting relegated a year later- I don't think he's the answer either. I'd give Hughes one more game to sort it out- purely based on the fact that he hasn't played a 'winnable' home fixture yet and three 9th place finishes give you a lot of credit in the bank. Fuck me though, he really is close to his overdraft at the moment, and we have to have a well thought out Plan B at the ready to go to in 6 days time , or at some other point in the near future if drastic improvement doesn't happen soon. Dyche would be the first man on my shortlist. His teams are organised, hard to play against, and he's shown that he can achieve success on a small budget. Whether he'd want to leave Burnley to sort out our rabble is another matter altogether, but I imagne that he'd be on for a nice pay increase should we go knocking on his door. In the meantime, better get this baby warmed up again...

I quite like the idea of Dyche and I think we'd be a really attractive proposition for him. I think there must be some very decent managers who would look at our squad and get excited by the possibilities.
edit: not just our squad but our club, our board, training ground, the whole hog!

I remember the old AXE AXE AXE thread, that kept me just about sane I think.
He's going to get that, the transfer dong and Denise's minge explorer as well.
Poor Sparky, he's going to look like he's been through a civil war.

I don't think Sean is up to the job of getting us out of a mess this big. He is a good manager, no doubt, but we need a rescuer to stabilise us before we look at someone like him or the lad at Bournemouth.

Once Trousers calls for Denise to don the strap-on and perform the necessary, you know it's coming.
And she'd definitely be pro-ginger.
So could be a runner.
Axe! Axe! Axe!

I know they're not playing with confidence at the moment but can you imagine dyche even going for the likes of bojan and shakiri and co?
Even if he did, can you imagine them entertaining it?
As painful as it is, no tar, I just prey Hughes turns it around this week with two wins.

Crystal Palace not being a winnable fixture? You have got to beat/draw with these guys to be in with a chance of survival. We are the next Derby County 11 pointer at the moment.

I'd rather Hughes go than Pulis forces the club's hand. I can't bear the thought of that.

The future is David Moyes who is clearly not happy up there Hughes has got two games I reckon Moyes did a good job at Everton on a limited budget, he was set up at Man U, and now is his time to regain some reputation, Sunderland did concede less goals than us against Spurs but those tactics dont take a lot of brain power to set up. Not sure.

I'm with Trousers
Every game for Hughes now is going to be must win.
Coates will only go for a British manager,we know that. Pulis will be the name everyone talks about, but surely it can't be him.
Howe won't come you'd imagine.
Dyche ticks a lot of boxes, would he leave Burnley at this time?
If not then I can't see who it would be. Alex Neill?
Macari out of retirement?
Hodgson? No it won't be him.
I'd take Moyes like a shot

Why would Coates only go for a British manager?? We need someone who can get the best from a multinational squad - a task that Hughes is clearly not able to do....we need to look beyond these shores IMHO.........
I'm fed up with the Mike Bassetts and journeymen off the British managerial merry go round......

Denis Smiths niece is married to Dyche. I don't know how well Smithy knows him personally but that could be a way of testing the water and finding out if he'd be interested in the job. That's if Stoke wanted him of course

Keane, keane & MON or hodgson for me Roy Keane? He's failed in every managerial job he's ever had. I wouldn't touch any of those suggestions with ten of Denise's strap-ons tied together.

Keane would give this team exactly what it is currently lacking, fight. Hodgson is more than capable at club level regardless of the national teams usual failings imo
