Are we still going balls out to win this frigging competition or soft pedalling in light of the imperative to improve our league position? I'm from the 'winning is a habit' school but I know some people think 'focus' is the way to go in difficult times. I think we may go for a bit of both, one ball out, with the other staying back behind in our shorts with the WBA game in mind if that's not taking this anatomically difficult analogy too far

Strongest line up possible and get a confidence boosting win. Hull will rest players as they have a wank squad so let's go for it and get some momentum going

Target at the moment is to win games of football. Let's worry about fixture congestion when we get towards the winter midweek league games if we're still in the cup then.
Personally I would like to see a reasonably similar team to how we would line up at the weekend, build a bit of organisation and connections between players.

Creating some goalscoring opportunities would be a start.

Grant
Johnson - Shawcross - Indi - Muniesa
Imbula - Adam
Arnautovic - Bojan - Ramadan
Bony
Would love Joe Allen in the side but think I'd rest him and try to bring Imbula in to give him another chance, Charlie has got to play this one think he would make a hell of a difference in comparison to Whelan, would love to see Ramadan start but knowing hughes he probably wont.

Got to go with strongest squad possibly put grant in goal to rest givens ageing body and Johnson since he has only just come back.
I don't think Hughes will try anything silly the focus is on him right now and he needs the wins

The same back 4 need to play together tomorrow and on Saturday. Also try and get a goal out of Bony.

It'll be interesting to see how many turn up on Wednesday.
I can't make it due to work, not sure I'd want to if I could after my 10 hour coach journey on Sunday, need a break!

After that, Jurgen, you DESERVE a break! However, my mate Bob and I will be in our usual seats, if I can shake off this damn migraine that started today. Interesting for us as we live 20 miles north of Hull. It's ok for me as I'm retired but my buddy works at the local council with lots of Hull supporters so he's bracing himself for a "bit of banter" if the losing run continues. Beware of thinking Hull have a rubbish squad. This may be true, but Phelan seems to be developing a good team spirit there and they will play for each other and the shirt.

Will it matter? I get the feeling that it won't while Hughes is our manager. These players aren't interested in playing for him anymore. On what are you basing that? Why would the players, most of whom have been (happily?) playing for MH for years, suddenly turn against him? What is it we need to know?

I want to see a huge tackle in the first minute to get the crowd going. Followed by a few passes, a cross into the box and an attempt on target ion the first 10 minutes. The rest will follow if we get off to a good start.

I'm expecting a 5-4 score-line to us, probably on penalties. We've got used to letting in 4 so live with it.

It simply cannot just be down to every player being woefully out of form.

Grant Pieters Indi Shawcross Johnson Arnie Allen Imbula Sobhi Diouf Bony
I think we'll get the best out of Bony with a couple of wide players and a strike partner, And I think Diouf could come good playing off a target man, Need Allen and Imbula to show some defensive responsibility and Johnson and Pieters to get back to the form they showed early last season. And Shawcross and Indi to click as a partnership. And Grant not to be crap,
Well you can live in hope...

Given Hull have a tiny squad presumably they will put a few kids in their side?

Since at least some of the players are supposedly pretty good, and since they haven't been bothering to show it so far this season, it's reasonable to think that they want Hughes gone. If that's so, then why would they bother for this game? It's hardly likely they've all got together and decided they've been naughty and they're going to suddenly start behaving themselves. So it really doesn't matter who plays tomorrow, it'll be more of the same, and Hull will overrun us. Which might be a good thing since the sooner this plug gets pulled the better.

For those saying we should play our "strongest side", does anybody have the foggiest idea what that is?

For those saying we should play our "strongest side", does anybody have the foggiest idea what that is? Somewhere lurking amongst our squad is a team which will click at some point and someone will be on the wrong end of a real beating. I just hope we find it sooner rather than later.
