Well done Brodge, fine effort there. Gouranga.

Hardly surprising given the chasm between the two teams.
It is a fine effort from Rodgers to get Celtic into the group stage.

Missing a penalty against a team like Barcelona to make it 1-1 is just criminal.....

Another enjoyable and exciting group stage is upon us. 5-0, 7-0 heading towards knockout fixtures we have seen 4 or 5 times over the last decade.
Yawn.

Celtic wage bill reportedly £24mOurs is supposedly £72m - and I wouldn't fancy our chances of keeping them below 5. It's a minor triumph for The Rodge!

No doubt Brendon will unearth some fantasy positive about the result. When they qualified for this stage Brendon without a hint of humour suggested Celtic were back where they belong! Seems like he was right....perennial whipping boys of Europe.

I'd bet a lot of money that they wouldn't lose 4-0 at home to Spurs, and that they don't lose 4-1 at home to Manchester City. Just sayin'

Seriously now if Celtic were given an automatic place in the prem, well,,, bottom 5 at best, relegation fodder at worst, most Jocks think they'd win it...

As with rangers they'd both struggle initially but they are both HUGE football clubs who after a few years of stability and funding would both be around the top 5 They really both are that big

Celtic would improve tenfold if they had the transfer/wage budget that even the lowliest of PL teams have thanks to TV deals etc...

Well he hasn't been there long, so until rodgers has built his own team, you can't really give a proper judgement. Barcelona could hit 7 past the best teams in europe, so some harsh comments. I don't understand why so many people are so desperate for him to fail, i think he is a decent manager.

And they think they're good enough to join the Premiership? Let's be honest, if they ever got the chance to compete in the English pyramid (and I hope they never do), they'd both do well. They're handcuffed to an awful unattractive league that is slowly killing them. At the moment, they're shit as they have to operate on a wage budget one third as big as the small Premier League clubs and, for that reason, most players would choose to play for Watford or Hull ahead of them

Just sayin' Man united just lost at home to man city 2-1,only two more goals and over 130million less spent for us. Oh and we got the same points that man u got for this fixture.

Nope...If that was the case they'd walk it...Seriously..They are at best a mid table club...Rangers would be relegation fodder...Crowds do not guarantee survival...Look at Villa...Look at Newcastle...

Not suggesting they'd be challenging for the league, but it's hard to deny that a team like Celtic wouldn't drastically improve with £80m+ in the bank? I guess it would all depend on how they're managed (or mismanaged)... Be interesting to see how they do in the remaining CL games now that the Barcelona away game is out of the way

Christ alive When I heard him this morning all he talked about was how the team failed to cope, due to barca's level, as if it was something he was commenting on that had nothing to do with him! It was as if he believed he was at Barca's level but his team weren't. So there you have it no blame can be attached to Brenton!
