How the hell can we be in the first month of the season with an injury crisis?
We've got players that I never thought I would see in our squad yet we are playing the first month with a keeper who is past it, no right hand side whatsoever & a midfield that play as though they have just met each other on a Sunday morning.
I have loved what Hughes has brought into the side over the last 3 years but at the moment i can't understand our game plan or how the hell we will dig ourselves out of this shit.
We buy Sobhi, the young star of Africa and he can't get on the pitch. Shaq is out, switch Arnie & give the lad a chance. At least we would have two sides to feed Bony.

I know that the press have praised our window and hindsight is a great thing but for me tried to do things on the cheap and it's come back to bite us in certain positions.
GK - for the next 6-10 weeks we are stuck with a 40 year old first choice keeper who isn't good enough and will leak "saveable" goals. Rather than getting a quality short term replacement in we got a Derby reserve.
RB - No issue here if Johnson is back soon.
LB - Chose not to get in a proper LB to put pressure on a player woefully out of form. The only options we have are an untested Taylor or Muni who isn't really a LB.
CB - I like the look of Bruno and see why we got rid of Wolly but with getting rid of Wilson however poor he was we are now 1 CB down from last season.
DM - should have been addressed by getting a powerhouse defensive midfielder in but instead MH is still falling back on Whelan. Allen looks a great buy but the 3 we had yesterday can't play together it would appear.
WING - We needed a winger like Moses who could come in and rotate when Shaq or Arni aren't fit. Clearly that hasn't happened because Diouf and Walters are still starting. It appears that MH doesn't trust Sobhi.
STR - Bony is a great signing but he's only a loan so the problem is still there long term. The chase for Berahino proved fruitless and stopped us looking elsewhere. what will we do when the ACON starts.
A big window where we've done well in parts but been negligent elsewhere. The GK situation, wing, DM and LB in particular.

All we need now is Ryan getting injured.
You can almost guarantee it.

I know people have been mocked for saying it before but clearly the way we do things aren't working, it's not just bad luck it's shoddy training and poor conditioning

It's not bad luck.

We're clearly failing in certain parts of the club. The medical side clearly is an issue but so is the academy / scouting as despite a huge amount of investment we still are yet to see any sign of our youngsters anywhere near the pitch. Some of them are near an age now where players from other clubs are playing first team football.

He's worse than TP for this side of the game for us and has been that bad throughout his career!

Because our full backs are so poor at the moment, we're having to play wide players who have to be able to defend better then they can attack.

I'd suggest that being surrounded by better players would bring the best out of them and there enthusiasm would feed to the crowd.

Well said calgary. I just can't see any light at the end of the tunnel. This squad, is one of the strangest we've had for a long time. The lack of goals is just abysmal! Defence, laughable. Midfield a right mish mash. Not happy at all!

When you look at the posts on here some are blaming the goal keeping situation for our dire results.
Some believe it's down to our fullbacks.
Others blame the form of our centre backs.
Many posters are blaming the lack of a solid defensive midfielder whereas others blame the lack of a penetrative attacking midfielder.
Personally, I feel that a lack of width means that our forwards get no service. Others believe our forwards are crap.
Apparently there is a core of supporters who believe our medical team should do better.
There are even posters who are blaming the supporters who shell out hundreds of pounds but are adjudged to be not getting behind the team.
Some rumours have it that we don't drill the defence whilst other rumours suggest the spirit in the camp is not what it was.
Whichever way you look at it the club is a bloody shambles all over the place. I just wish I could put my finger on the reason why.

The main area of concern is the defence, exacerbated by Butland being injured. We have not got one decent full back on our books, and I think this is a disgrace. Johnson was a panic buy, and we all know he's another crock. I think Mr. Hughes and his transfer team have failed us badly! Sorry folks, but that's the way I see it.
