At half time some people seemed to think it was for dissent, others thought it was for diving.
Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? I thought it was dissent...he's getting quite adept at it.

I thought it was for diving and so did most reporters on my way home.

From the beeb -
'The Welshman was sent to the stands by referee Anthony Taylor shortly before Spurs' 41st-minute opener after reacting angrily to what he thought was a foul on Jon Walters and a yellow card given to Marko Arnautovic for diving.'

Yeah, I have to admit I thought it was for diving but the mates I spoke to at half time, said they thought it was for dissent.

If it was for diving, then Son should have been dismissed by that point.
If it was for dissent, then we are the only club in the country to whom that rule applies. We have now had three bookings and a manager dismissed, while nobody else in the country has even been warned about getting a yellow!
Whichever it was, it just highlights the ineptitude of today's officials.

It was definitely for diving. It was right in front of us.

I assumed dissent as sat in the boothen. My argument was that arnie had to jump so high to get out of the way of a lunge and was furious he didn't get the free kick for it. If the ref is saying he dived that's billshit aswell as like I've said arnie had to get out the way of a bad lunge

Shows the angle I had was misleading. Clear dive. Ridiculous dive. Deserves a yellow for that

Haven't seen it yet on TV but at the time I thought it was a clear (embarrassing in fact) dive, that's why I couldn't understand why Hughes had got so irate about it.

It was mate. I've only just seen it myself. I was going delete what I originally put as that's the view I had but seeing it again it's embarrassing from arnie

I still think it was dissent.
It was the way in which the ref stopped play!

Just seen it on the box ... yep the ref clearly gestures that he's booked him for diving.

I didn't even realise dissent came into it. Looked like it was for the dive.

He jumped out of the way of a tackle to avoid a possible injury, immediately sprung to his feet without appealing and got booked. Literally bullshit from the ref.

Thought the same at the time, looked to avoid the tackle and got straight up. I can only think that Arnie remonstrated about the tackle on Walters so the ref booked him for diving.

I think Hughes was pointing out that two of their players had gone down like the were extras in Platoon in our box with not even a second glance from the ref. Arnie falls over somewhat theatrically in the middle of the pitch and got booked for it. Where's the consistency once again? I was as apoplectic as Hughes clearly was.

It was his second dive tbf. He went down very flamboyantly in the centre circle early in the game, then made out he had agonising multiple fractures when he got nothing for it, wasting several minutes of play before trotting back on with no embarassment. If he was genuinely hurt then maybe he should stop smacking himself into the pitch and chase the ball instead. Love Arnie, but he's such a drama queen, Hughes shouldn't stand for it.

It wasn't a dive. He was getting out of the way of being kicked. You could tell by his reaction that he wasn't looking for anything, just avoiding pain.

I don't like the bloke and I'm a fair critic but how can he dive and get up immediately looking to continue play. He looked like he was about to get clattered, took the self preservation route (Bony got body checked right after kick off, as did Arnie when the physio's came on). It's a fucking farce he got booked given the amount of diving their lot conducted.

Winded by Eriksen's shoulder. Then again he's paid too much to be allowed to feel anything.

Erickson blocked him off. Ok he rolled around like he'd been shot but that's just Arnie, he's a fanny. He no more deserved a card than Son or Alli did for their theatrics in our box. A point which I am sure Hughes was making which lead to him being sent off.

Ive just watched it and it certainly was a dive, yes he anticipated the challenge but that doesn't mean you fall to the ground, correct decision.Would love to see the Dele Ali one as well in the 1st half again.

So am I correct in thinking that he's had 3 yellow cards this season? 1 for diving and 2 for dissent?

I just thought he was fouled, not badly just fouled. He took evasive action and probably tried to make sure the ref knew about it.
Not seen it on TV but that was my thoughts live albeit from the Boothen so a good way away.

Funny how there is no dissent in any other games, just as there is no foul play at set pieces in any other games, oh & no other managers losing that shit in any other games ( haven't seen anything from Manc derby but assume it was JM on the pitch?)??
Also Ali & Son's dives were not proper dives like Arnie's obviously, just as Wanayama's cynical block when on a booking wasn't the same as Glen's cynical block in the first 5 mins that he was booked for without a seconds hesitation.
Complete & utter biased bullshit all round i would say.
