I registered on this board in 2014 I think, your maths are feckin shocking even by my standards , pleased to see that you agree that we are shit at the moment though some common ground there. You did in this guise yeah. When you enjoyed our football that season; did we hear as much from you then? Singing the praises of the team that put six past Liverpool for instance? Only ever registered on here once unlike many od the sad acts that frequent it, and yes I did like I said we were only three players away from being a top PL team yeah man

Just remember Colin, the brown stuff is never far away from being in the pink mate. Bill , i think i know what you mean Yes we have to be positive mate. It bet Trevor is never too concerned about being in the shit, although I'm not sure that he favours the pink either.

Year 2016 premier league fixtures
Stoke
P 23 W 5 (3 against teams to get relegated)
For 23 Against 47
Newcastle utd
P 19 W 5
For 25 Against 31
Obviously we've played more games due to them being relegated but this just makes our figures worse.
No getting away from it not a blip and for those who quote three 9th placed finishes as the table doesn't lie, we're now bottom and last seasons ninth was a poor finish when we were looking a 6th at Christmas.
Something happened around the WBA / Liverpool cup game when the team selections was so wrong that effected the team / MH in my opinion.

This is a continuation of last. We persist on taking on teams playing a 4-2-3-1 and getting a tonking. I am no manager but can plainly see all other teams who play this formation have quick fullbacks who create alongside inverted wingers. We dont all full backs at our club dont suit possibly bar Johnson hence we struggle to build attacks and make forwards look worse than they are. Hughes has taken us backwards and i hate to say we are overloaded in certain positions and terible in others. I agree with the overall sentiments of the post and the message that the post conveys, this IS NOT A BLIP we have been dog shit from January to the end of last season, woeful through pre season and shockingly bad at the start of this season, how many teams have now put 3 or 4 goals past us in the last 12 months yet we still keep trotting out the excuses, even Burton Albion managed to stuck 3 past us with no reply and we still made excuses...we are not match fit, its early in pre season read nothing in to this it is a training match, key players are still injured, give them another couple of weeks, Burton have started their season training two weeks before us.....sorry rose tinters that is bollocks, we are a premier league team who were playing a side that were old money 3rd division the season before who the majority of the team would be of that standard, a team that have not embarrassed themselves but have not really set the championship alight yet we could not get a draw or even keep the score down to a more respectable 1-0 loss, as far as I can see the warning signs were there at the end of last season and have yet to be addressed, the signs are now evident this season and they need addressing quickly or this is going to be a long and painful season, no knee jerk reactions just quick football tactical changes with players bought in to give us a couple of much needed confidence boosting wins against the lesser teams of the league, the Keeper situation is dire and shows how much Butland kept us in the games, the pundits were lauding his ability because he deserved it, our reserve keepers are Sunday league sitting behind a defence that needs the back up that Butland gave, I just hope Grant the lad from Derby is of better ilk because as much as I hate doing it my comments on the keepers are far from positive, as for the 9th position finishes and the points raised I can not argue with them although.......it was a good job we had a good start to the season because from the end of January (27th) it was woeful with us playing in 3 games and conceding 3 and another 3 conceding 4 goals, plus we only managed to keep 1 clean sheet and that was against table topping Newcastle with even the european giants of Villa putting 1 past us who finished with a minus 49 goal difference, and that was with Butland in goal up to mid march but then we said it was because of Ryans injury problems. Shit to all these excuses about refs, injuries, new rules, bad luck, fitness, defensive training, lack of cover, lets get it sorted even if it is hard decisions and news people don't want to hear....and dont even get me started on Shaqs overall contribution since he signed, disaster

Hughes has taken us backwards and i hate to say we are overloaded in certain positions and terible in others. We did play 4-2-3-1 and it was quite successful, but we now try 4-3-3 with 3 midfielders who generally dont know what one another is doing, leaving gaping holes that Jenna Jameson would be proud of. It's quite clear Hughes knows Imbula can't be trusted I n a midfield two. As a result he's trying to accommodate him by sacrificing a number 10 who are increasingly important in this league today (and we have 2 cracking number 10s on the books). Drop Imbula and I'm convinced we will at least look more compact, focused, and the defence will have at least some sort of competent cover in front of them. Of course, we all know why Hughes won't drop Imbula, but a disciplined midfield two of Whelan and Allen would be considerably better.

Id like to see a midfield of ----------Adam - Allen--------- Shaqiri-------bojan-------arnie
Allen can be adam legs i think he could be a great help on getting us on the front foot, not the best defensivley but he is a clever player who can adapt to the role and sitting deeper
