What do we do on there?
Today we didn't look like we had a clue. No shape whatsoever.
Going forwards we were clueless. The usual short laboured passing where we gave ourselves no space whatsoever.
Defensively we gave them so much space. Lots of posters seem to suggest that we have to play Whelan as he gives us defensive stability. Well bloody hell if that was stable then we are in trouble.
I like Hughes and he's worked wonders to get us 3 9th placed finishes but something seems very wrong at the moment. I appreciate injuries have an effect but it seems like once we concede we go to pieces.
There's no doubt that playing Boro (away), Man C (home), Everton (away), Spurs (home) is an awful start of fixtures but we seem to have lost our confidence and the majority of our players seem to have no energy. It was always going to be a risk playing Bony and Bruno today due to lack of games but no one else had that excuse.
Im not sure 433's working either. Regardless of whether one of our expensive signings or long serving players get upset we need to go back to 4231 for me. It always seem to have been where we were at our best. For me next game I'd go
.................Given.................
Johnson.....Ryan........Bruno......Eric
............Adam.......Allen...........
Shaq.............Bojan.............Arni
..................Bony.................
I'd give Sparky a couple more games. If we haven't got 3-6 points by then I'd seriously look at replacing him before it's way too late. Right now we're in the running to be this years Villa unless things change.

Pieters shouldn't be anywhere near the team.

rockets need to be sent up arses.
the badly out of form players need to be dropped, not to just allow them time to address their own problems but to send a message to the squad that if you aren't performing then you aren't playing.
Imbula, pieters and whelan bring the prime candidates.
Walters should be nowhere near this team right now.
I don't ever want to see Cameron at right back again.
so simply muniesa, Adam, bojan in for the 1st 3 and I pray shaq and johnson are back soon.

Pieters shouldn't be anywhere near the team. Who would you play at LB instead?

Pieters shouldn't be anywhere near the team. Who would you play at LB instead? I'd give Muniesa a go, and we he inevitably gets injured after a couple of games I'd give Taylor a go. I don't think Taylor is ready but he couldn't do any worse than Pieters at the moment, who offers nothing at either end of the pitch.

Terrible to say but it looks like giving players new long contracts just doesn't work at Stoke. Pieters has been p*ss awful ever since he got his. And he wonders why Blind doesn't pick him for Holland. I wouldn't pick him for our reserves, never mind our first team, based on performances for last six months or so..

Excellent post to many players going missing at the moment or just not good enough anymore in the case of Whelan, Walters and Crouchy. MH needs to start taking risks on quicker, younger, hungrier players like NGoye, Sobhi, Taylor and the young Belgium lad who's name evades me. For what it's worth I didn't think Imbula had a bad game today. So selection wise if fit I'd go with Given - nowhere near as good as Jack but we'll have to make do. Johnson - Huge loss. Bards has been OK though and has to be backup. Shawcross - Not at his best but he's the best we have. Bruno - Decent game. He'll get better the more he plays. Muni - Deserves a chance after Eric's recent showings. Allen - Been a shining light this season. Undroppable. Adam - drives us forward and gives us grit. Opposition will worry if he plays. Shaq - Can produce magic but needs to give more or its Sobhi in. NOT WALTERS Bojan - Play him in his best position and you'll get the best from him. Arni - Still our most talented player. Bony - Good for him to get a game as he needs to build up his fitness. We need to start getting the opposition to start worrying about us again. Our lineup today would scare no one.

Was so frustrating watching the second half today, Shawcross especially has a habit of stepping right out of defence into a rash challenge and leaving space in behind him, Pieters and Cameron were both fucking appalling, it's beyond me why we played so narrow and allowed them the ball out wide. Also, first half Walters, Bony and Arnautovic all stood on each other's toes and left absolutely no width so we had Allen playing wide left and nobody on the right? Fuck knows what they're doing in training.
