Green street sequels are atrocious. The 1st one is shit but it's watchable.

Shane Ritchie in a rebooted 'Minder' was so bad, as to be almost insulting to those who remembered and loved the original.

Rocky V was horrendous Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome slightly redeemed by an okish final chase scene but nowhere near the magnificence of Mad Max 2
Controversial one this but...Aliens. I loved it when I saw it in 1986 but looking at it now, its a travesty to the mystique & atmosphere of the original 1979 film. For all its many flaws Prometheus was trying to return to this & Im optimistic Ridley Scott will nail this with Alien Covenant. Aliens demystified the magnificent, diabolic nature of the Alien and turned it into a bug hunt - essentially Rambo in space. Still a decent enough movie, a good standalone film BUT not the sequel that was deserved.
Indiana Jones & Last Crusade; couple of good action scenes but some very poor fx too for 1989 and its essentially a rehash of the far superior original Raiders Of the Lost Ark.
Die Hard 3 - some great casting & one liners but nowhere near the intensity or quality of the action in parts 1 & 2
The entire Roger Moore Bond era with maybe the exception of Spy Who Loved Me & Live & Let Die
I will be back with more
And not just the obvious like Superman 4 or Jaws 3 & 4

One thing that do get a rough ride are the Star Wars prequels
Im not massive on Attack Of The Clones but Revenge Of The Sith is my joint fav with Return Of The Jedi Phantom Menace has Jar Jar Binks admittedly BUT the scenes with Darth Sidious & Darth Maul were great as was the lightsaber face off at the end
You know, look at my avatar, my all time fav movie character and really he stole the show in the prequels especially Sith
Force Awakens; Im still unconvinced, expecting better next time. Not a patch on Revenge Of The Sith
At least Rogue One looks the business, hoping Palps makes at least a cameo

Chinatown was a great detective movie starring Jack Nicholson, directed by Roman Polanski. The sequel, The Two Jakes, was directed by Jack Nicholson himself and was dreadfully poor. Chinatown is recommended tho folks!

I really liked the first Nightmare on Elm Street and remember genuinely feeling that I had seen something different in the horror genre when I left the cinema. But they went sadly downhill, resulting in the risible 'Freddy's Dead' one in 3D. I did quite enjoy Freddy V Jason, but only in an ironic manner, mind you ...

Speed 2. The first wasn't exactly the best film ever but atleast it 'worked' with the bus having to stay over such & such speed blah de blah. I'd love to have been in the boardroom when they asked for suggestions on how to make it better, and some tart stood up & said lets set it on a big fucking cruise ship that moves slower than just about anything else on earth.
Predator 2. The first film is an all-time classic that everyone has seen, everyone can quote lines from & what have you... Can anyone genuinely remember what happened in the second without having to Google it? I can vaguely remember something about a freezer & an old gun that's about it, and I certainly couldn't give you any classic quotes... Or even tell you who was in it come to think of it. It wonna Arnie again was it?

It wonna Arnie again was it? I really didn't mind Predator 2; it certainly ramped up the sadistic violence, I liked the drug gang war element to it. Setting it in the (then) future too. The opening gun battle was really good for the time
See what you make of this news...

To be fair, the remake was excellent, made Krueger a real monster again!

Quadrophenia 2 has been filmed over the summer - some of the original cast are onboard as their original characters such as Phil Daniels, Toyah Willcox and the guy from the Bill. But whats left of thr Who and their company are dead set against it and there will be no Who tracks in it
Phil Daniels is great whenever he pops up sporadically - but i can sense this being a load of twaddle

Yes, i have deleted it as it wasnt very good. I wish film makers would do the same
Godfather 3 is universally slated, but i watched all 3 in one day once(what a day) and it fits in with the others very well. It was Andy Garcias finest hour, and Joe Mantenega and Eli Wallach were great too.
There is Django 3 coming out soon as well - 50 years after Django, and 30 years after Django returns. Of the multiple Djangos, Franco Nero is the best and he is reprising his original role from 1966 and 1987. I have high hopes for that

All the Starship Troopers films are pretty poor when compared with the original story by Robert Heinlein but you can't really compare films with the books they are based on I suppose .
