We play liquid football now, not rugby/war of attrition/orc defensive wall of 9, don't you know.
Wet and windy ruins the game plus the JCL's get wet in the front rows.

When our team was made up of Wilko, Rory, A.D.Faye, Ryan, Lawrence, etc. The weather was an advantage to us. Bojan, Arnie, Wolly, Shaq now in the team they struggle.

Its dry but the back of the South stand is more sheltered from the wind and you don't get the sun in your eyes. Not a bad trade off for a slightly worse view, always prefer side on. |

I think that was one of the worst condition games that I can remember and I have been to some bad ones over the years. Went into the concourse in the Q Railings lower at half time and there was a poor guy in there totally soaked and attempting to wrap newspaper around his neck to keep dry. I gave him a hand and he turned out to be a Evertonian who had managed to somehow blag a ticket.!! The irony was that the only dry place in the ground was the South stand where the away visitors were. |
