A couple of years ago a young man of African decent was killed by police with a taser in Chesterton . We had a bit of a ding-song on this board over there use. I'm not sure what the verdict of that case was!?! When Police have the power of law, truncheons, C S Gas & man/woman power behind them, aren't teasers just an instrument of tourtière !?!

I've pissed on their tazers.

Tasters are just a teaser for the main meal a right good kicking whilst on the ground by plod (allegedly by an eye witness), these half witted thugs really do need some sort of accountability not a slap on the wrists again.

On tonight's menu, I went with a bit of the salt cod(bacalao), which is big in these parts & also in the Caribbean . It's ok, but not as good as the fresh

Left over lamb dinner from Bucknall for me today, not complaining though.

Bit like a posh kebab with nasty sauce

Yes, I see the error of my ways now. In my defence, I dropped the phone & shattered the screen last night, so can't see a thing what I'm writing

Got this one out the gutter from in front of what was the Highland Laddie. Someone had probably chucked it at their husband and missed. Not bad re-heated. Don't know how the sheep had been dispatched though mate.

Non-lethal options must be better than guns in situations where the criminal/perpetrators are unarmed. I used to teach restraint skills to health professionals and ten years ago we were using much softer and pain averse skills than the police and prison authorities who still use pain infliction to coerce people to control them. Horses for courses. You wouldn't use the same skills on a child or granny as you would a power lifter armed with a shiv. The issue for me is the least restrictive/pain causing option. Any restraint intervention carries risks. The problem with electronic devices of any kind they carry a risk of stopping the heart. Many years ago they were on about bean bags fired at offenders to wind and incapacitate. Another option was a huge torch like green laser to blind an attacker so that they can't see what's coming next. The problem with tasers is they are small, light, portable and effective. Ammonia sprays and cs spray could incur respiratory issues with those vulnerable, again possible death. Given the choice between a Taser in the balls and a truncheon on the head it's a no brainier for me re risk! And I'm in no desire to have any more kids!

I spent some time working in Chesterton - at THE, other wise affectionately known as the cabbage factory
Its the only place I know where even the vicar got beaten up once.
Andy McNab could write a bestseller based on there!
