I'm gonna hold off until the upper tier is on sale I think, I've had a look and if you're too far back in the lower you barely see anythin!

What the view like on row P? Just bought tickets there second row from the back. It doesn't say they are restricted view on scfc direct but doesn't the roof cover half the pitch or something?

Put it this way, if it's the back of the lower tier I'd stay at home if I were you. Worst view in English football! It's like looking through a letterbox. I'd try to get a refund and then go into the upper tier when it becomes available.

Do they have some that aren't on the website? I don't care if im upper tier or lower as long as I can see whats going on! I'm going on holiday tonight and I wanted to buy them before I go!

Lower tier restricted view would be a complete waste of time and should be banned by trading standards. I had the misfortune of one of these last season and couldn't see anything of Shaqs goal. The front of the top tier is a good view.

Stoke have sold more than 1,400 tickets for Everton. Upper tier is now available & general sale opens tomorrow.

The website (SCFC Direct) never gives a true picture of seats that are left unsold. Only some of the available seats are put on the website - the rest are for sale to telephone callers and visitors to the ticket office. It is the obvious way to do it - otherwise you'd have ticket office staff and online fans "competing" to buy the same seats.

The system can cope with that- as soon as you click on a ticket to buy it online it immediately turns a different colour in real time to other users, and is not available for them to buy. I think the reason they put the away tickets online in blocks is the simple practicality of it being easier to find the right tickets to hand to the customer or post out if they have separate blocks of actual tickets in the ticket office. That's not an issue for the home tickets as they are printed there and then from the system.

I think the other aspect of having blocks/batches for the ticket office staff and separate blocks/batches for online sales is that it enables the ticket office staff to offer their tickets to customers in such a way as to minimise the numbers of single seats left available as the sales process progresses. It is probably unavoidable that single seats are at risk of being left available by the online sales process. Incidentally, an interesting thing happened to me when I bought tickets for myself and Luke45 for the Boro game. There were two adjacent seats available on the row I wanted. I selected mine - but when I tried to select Luke's, the seat next to mine was showing as unavailable and I ended up buying the seat in front of me for him. This has never happened to me before and the time between selecting my seat and trying to select his, was a matter of seconds! Weird!

Just bought mine. Not done Everton before, how do most get back to the station from the ground? Taxi or some sort of bus? Or the hour long walk?

I swopped mine at the ticket office this morning. I've been at the bottom, absolutely terrible, also back of middle tier, even worse. I got mine online for the bottom initially then went to the ticket office last week and swapped for row 3 of the top tier, no problems at all.
