Haugaard has to be the worst Premier League goalkeeper I have ever seen. Young lad or not, he's not good enough. He wasn't good enough for the Danish league - I just don't get why we decided to sign him

No matter how you spin it, losing 2-0 pre season to a championship side when we've been as pitiful as we have isn't great. Lack of squad depth on quality is there for all to see

Suppose it's unlikely Haugaard will play a minute of Prem football behind Butland and Given (although that's what we thought last season) But it's looking increasingly likely that he's just not up to it. Wonder if we seriously will think about getting rid and bringing in a safer option (although having said that joining a Prem club as a 3rd choice keeper is distinctly unappetising for anyone with any talent) I'd imagine that is exactly why Haugaard is playing today. If he isn't up to standard it is best we confirm it now rather than find out at a time when it really matters later in the season. In his pre season a year ago, Haugaard looked to have potential (apart from his penalty facing technique) but it looks from his performances late last season and today that he has not lived up to it. It happens - best to find out now.

Given the noises coming out the club it certainly sounds they are struggling in the market. Can't see more than 3 or 4 at most coming in and even 2 of those could be loans. This will be toughest challenge yet staying in the prem. Mainly due to the fact average teams willing to pay 15 million on players that are so very average!

Given our performances towards the end of last season (even that last game where they should have been out of sight) and our inability to strengthen thus far, as well as sort out Arnautovic's situation has left us looking far worse than our 9th place finish suggested.

Yes we should not forget the 12-0 in 3 games run!, that should be enough to worry us all!. Also agree West Ham missed several great chances !!!!

First pre-season friendly & it's all doom & gloom already. No-one is good enough, no-one wants to sign for us, we're shit, we're going down. I'm going fuck off up the Vale, at least they're signing players.

First pre season game and already knicker wetting going on! Utter cockheads! Your thoughts then? I'm certainly not too bothered by pre-season friendlies but I think our recent starts to the season under Hughes indicate that a change in his plans and set-up are needed. Slow starts are a common theme and dropped points early on can cost us a couple of places come the end of the season.

We knew with absolute certainty on the evidence of last season that Haugaard is nowhere near being a Premier League (or any other league for that matter), so there really was no point in playing him today or at any other time. We all know he's not up to the job. What else was there to prove??

I'm sorry this is not knicker wetting this is pointing out that we have a very poor back 4 without shawcross, we don't have cover for the goalie, we don't have a clinical striker, we don't have cover on the wings, we don't have any pace. These weaknesses were highlighted when we went 3 games and lost each 4-0. These are pretty well known issues no?

Don't get me wrong, I'm in no doubt that we will be okay, I just think our expectations should be lower this time around and we are regressing slightly as it stands. Staying in the Premier League should always be the ambition for a club like ours. Anything else is a bonus.

I know it's only a friendly, but it's not good is it?
We've so far failed to add to a defence that struggles to defend and an attack that struggles to score. It's not knicker-wetting to be concerned about the general malaise that's been around the team since New Year.

And again been highlighted y the fact we are losing 2-0 to a lower league club with the same weaknesses exposed. Again i don't think that is unfair?!
