Sheffield Wednesday seem to be playing as Ipswich next season. And God only knows what Crewe are up to? Quite what these kit manufacturers think gives them the right to mess with 100 years of history, who knows? They've both gone down very badly with the fans as you can imagine!

Crewe have seemingly moved to Doncaster.

Away kits are fair game. If you want to go for the fruit salad look, who cares?
But messing around with the home kit is unforgivable.

I would have presumed(?) that the club give the manufacturers a working brief, which is then translated into design, OK'd (or not) by the club and then into the finished product. It may be the club 'messing' with history - but, as you say, who knows? Designing something outlandish would certainly mean more sales if only because shirts in the previous design, would be outdated but that would depend on fans' reaction - it could mean 'no sales'!!

Why dont clubs design their own kits and ask for them, or pay extra out for adidas they usually do the best job, or have done for us when we had them

The biggest football shirt-related cock-up of all time? I hope it was a genuine mistake...

I find that two of the most difficult things to explain to non-football supporters are:
a) why we get so bothered when some goons from a kit manufacturer decide to meddle with your club's kits
b) why we get so bothered when the same happens to other clubs.
That Wednesday shirt is an abomination. What we're they thinking of? It's not even the right blue.

My mates cousin used to work for adidas and they used to knock up about three or four designs for clubs and let them decide. That was a few years ago now before CAD made it even easier. So you've got to blame the clubs really if it's still the case they get to choose.

You know what, I'm pleased they've got a shit kit.
A club supposedly serious about getting back in the top flight and they hire Sondico (fucking Sondico!) to make their kits.
You don't deserve success with that level of ambition and I'm glad the school lost property make have done them over.
Fuckin' Sondico man.

So you've got to blame the clubs really if it's still the case they get to choose. You're not wrong. A club will usually get presented with three options. They may like bits from each option. Stoke have turned down pinstripes before (and hooped socks). They are also fixed on keeping the RRP at £45 which is £10 cheaper than most other clubs. Which means our kits aren't as 'technical'. Things like a perforated sponsor so it is lighter in weight and more flexible have been too costly for us in the past.

Causing quite a stir up here, but it is at least based on a historical basis which is 'almost' acceptable for an away kit. And I quite like it!

Marketing people !!!! Someone has figured that they look good with jeans or something bit like the person who figured out that anyone who buys our home shirt this season will look odd from the back if they don't spend more money on a name and number

Makes me wonder who if anybody within either the club or the supporters clubs etc they consult?
They MUST consult somebody, you can't just turn up with a shit shirt and expect people to pay for it. Anybody know the process?

Never mind what other clubs are doing, who is the bastard responsible for our home strip and the big white patch, it is an embarrassment The PL / UEFA Not true, Sunderland and Southampton have stripes on the back I was at long ton park yesterday for the fun day - upside, (apart from a great day out in lovely weather) was the huge number of Stoke shirts being worse by all ages, downside - the new home shirt looks simply awful from the back, even those with name / number. Huge mistake for me, looks even worse than the red back adidas one
