Inspired by an off topic conversation on the Cattermole thread TV totty really was at its peak in the late 60s and early 70s and there were so many great shows and cult movies to showcase our talents Valerie Leon is a prime example, being in everything from the Persuaders to the Avengers, even Space 1999. Film wise she has stared in the Best of British- Bond girl twice, some great carry ons, Hammer Horror starring roles, and The Italian Job. Not to mention whipping Peter Sellers clouseau dressed head to toe in leather. Any other contenders Criteria- British, late 60s early 70s, starlets rather than stars, cult appeal

She's a beaut Marwood and that's for sure. I've recently given the satirical political Peter Cook film 'Michael Rimmer' another watch. Pert and pertinent with a marvellous Leon secretarial cameo. Have you sin it? It's very now and features a curiously saucy Diana Coupland. But then again I'm equally as intrigued by Penelope Keith as Felicity Kendal these days. * A bit of thinking time while I rummage through the memory bank. Down.

Jenny Agutter
(the 'Walkabout' Jenny, more than 'The Railway Children' Jenny - skirt was shorter, legs were longer)
Not sure if she counts, though. Too big a star, maybe?

Caroline Munro. Graduated fairly quickly from TV work in the late 60s to films (Hammer horrors, Bond etc) and advertising (Lambs Navy Rum Girl), but stunningly beautiful.

Yes Michael Rimmer is a great movie, and its only because of Val that Ive seen it. You can see why Peter Cooke is known as the comedians comedian. But Val steals it and yes, there is something about Penelope Keith as Margo (but not in anything else) that is very appealing

Alexandra Bastedo who played Sharron Macready in The Champions. As a young lad in the 60's I thought she was fantastic.

Margaret Nolan. Hayley Mills. Lisa Langdon (Callan). Prunella Gee. Margaret Nolan is exactly the type of late 60s starlet I had in mind Prunella Gee was outstanding in the otherwise dire Kinvig. And she had a memorable turn in the Sweeney. They always had their eye on the best talent when it came to casting the guest stars Honourable mention to the late Lynda Bellingham as well in this latter category

I stand alone (it seems) in thinking Linda Thorson preferable to Emma The aforementioned Prunella Gee and a new one for the mix, Sue Lloyd, never finer than on her Avengers guest appearance or Ipcress File

Good call by Deeside. Alexandra Bastedo turned her back on fame and devoted her life to running an animal sanctuary, I believe. She was incredibly young when she did The Champions, though, barely out of her teens.
