I got thinking and thinking today and thought about how some stokies are very new and only just realised they 'Love stoke' and some are loyal and have stood by the club for Donkey's years, so I pose the question....
[glow=red,2,300]When did you first become a Stokie?[/glow]
-I was 5 years old and got given two football shirts: -Manure -Stoke I had to choose one and went for Stoke...simple!!!
My first game was against Preston in '97/98 and we lost 1-0 after a Michael Jackson goal....

Boothen End, The Victoria Ground, 10th October 1992, Stoke City vs Leyton Orient, aged 6.
We won 2-1 (although I can't remember that fact)
the old man just used to lift me over the turnstiles, as I'm sure many did.
First had a season ticket for the last year at the Vic.

Hope the goal was a Thriller, or was it Off the Wall? ;D Mine was v Arse, early 70's Alan Ball's debut (think he was the first £200,000 player) It was foggy and the only things that stood out were Bally's red hair and white "gay boy" boots ;D And I think it was a 0-0 draw.

Boothen End v Millwall in 1995 was when I finally caught the home and away bug. I had been a Stokie for years but my mate went down and I said I would go with him. It was amazing. A wall of intimidation. Millwall were top of the league at the time and when we beat them they dropped down the league like a parachute with an anvil tied to it.
Always remember the entire Boothen all shouting "FUCK OFF MILLWALL" in unison everytime Millwall came near the Stoke goal over and over again. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end and from there I have only missed games in my university years.
£5 to get in the Boothen back in them days. It was money well spent and totally affordable.
It's a sunject I love talking about in the boozer all the time ;D

I was a Stoke fan before i was even born, couldn't not be in my family. First game as a toddler at the Vic just to the left of the Boothen, all I remember from the game is the noise, i wore cotton wool in my ears for every game after that until i was about 9. First game I really remembered was plymouth at home with a mammoth double save from Peter Fox... and a pitch invasion at the end that I didn't really understand at the time, it made my old man happy though. Been a season ticket holder for 13 of my 21 years on the planet.

Stokie from birth. Dad was fanatical. I cannot remember my first home game but my first away game was Sheffield Utd away March 1979 - aged 6!!!. Remember a transit van full of Stokies in my uncles transit van going over buxton. I was unaware of it then but we pushing for a promotion place into old div 1. Finished 3rd I think.

Like most it was decided for me, but it was confirmed in 1992(ish)on the old away terrace at Leeds Road, Huddersfield. My second game was the Autoglass Final at Wembley, also in '92. I love the fact that after nearly 17 years as a Stokie, im now being called a glory hunter by the locals ;D My daughter officially became a Stokie at 9 months old, against Burnley this year, and she was there to celebrate with us on Tuesday night too. So proud
