I've seen a thread about the players who shouldn't be in the England squad but who should be in the squads throughout qualifying? Obviously it will be change on form of the players but there must be some out there we can agree on (or not). Drinkwater appears to be the unluckiest one out there from the lot left home. What centre backs have we got? Do Dann, Shawcross and um, er......anyone else deserve a shot? This was the last U-21 squad, how many of them would we want in the side? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England_national_under-21_football_teamI'd have Ward-Prowse in the squad in a flash. And I'd like to see Watmore (we had no one bar Rashford) with his directness given a shot if he carries on how he's doing. But other than that (for me) there's not an obvious shout for someone to step up. So who in this post Euro finger pointing era deserves a shot? And who (do you think) will show they deserve a go?

Rashfy should be. Drinky deserves another chance. Carroll brought back but his sicknote tendencies are a worry. Jack should be phased in as no.1 keeper in time for Russia.
Centre halves you say? Now that's what I call a problem!

Link doesn't work Bayern.
On the topic I don't think with many its to do with a lack of quality. They showed a distinct lack of bottle in the Iceland game, Its not lack of quality, its not because they don't care enough. Maybe as proud Englishmen they care a bit too much and our unsuccessful history is weighing too heavily on them. Maybe Glenn Hoddle was barking up the right tree with Eileen Drewery after all, there is definitely a psychological weakness in our football teams.

Now that's what I call a problem! Yeah he should as long as he keeps the good work up! With the goalies I really do think it should be an open competition. All 3 'keepers are very good goalies, it's up to one of them to grab the shirt. Who is there?

In terms of players who are good enough to be included in the England national team squad but haven't been, I'd select: Antonio, Drinkwater, Shawcross, Butland and Noble. Perhaps even Defoe or Deeney.

Deeney?
I think the strikers on the whole are fine and he gets nowhere near the squad for me.
Antonio is exactly what we need though if he can keep it up. Direct, pacy and a threat.

Ward-Prowse looks like a proper footballer, not one to win games singlehandedly, but all-round competent enough to make me think he must have been schooled abroad like Eric Dier.

Might be an interesting experiment to exclude any player earning more than a certain amount. Say 30k per week?

He does and has a cleverness about his play too with a bit of nous. And he can deliver a mean set piece which is always good.

Noble will never play for England and I suspect Drinkwater won't either unless he shines in the Champions League.
