Puma. Either they're gash or the French need to cut their fingernails.

On the evidence of these championships so far neither Shaqiri at 12m or Arnautovic at 10 to 12.5m are worth the money. Both have shown very little although both may have been let down by poor service!

They got the result they needed, shaq was saved knowing results were going for them.

Although not great shaq looked better in the number 10 role. Imo that's where he's best suited

When your own midfield are facing the wrong way what chance has he got.

He did ok but he didn't look to have a real go choosing to make very short passes rather than run at the defence.

I only saw the second half and he did absolutely nothing wrong, 86% of passes were accurate apparently, he was tidy and tracked back, he is far more of a team player than Ronaldo in this tournament thats a fact. I don't know what exactly some people are expecting of him, last seasons stats show him in a really good light. There is more to come from him for us.

He ran the game for a large part of the second half. Presumably that was the 20 minutes in which I fell asleep??? In a team with players around him that are poor, he's doing as much as he can. The first half he was isolated out wide and starved of the ball, and the second half he was more central, came deeper to get on the ball and was better for it. I would have liked see him in the France team.

Murphy said it all when he came off. Much better second half, drifted inside and saw more of the ball and tried to make things happen. He was too isolated stuck out wide.
Sums up his first season with us.

I thought Shaq did OK without achieving a great deal. But on that pitch I think any ball player would have struggled (unless they were Hudson ).

Ronaldo has been pretty crap in his 2 games so far and he's probably valued at £112 million. So why should Shaq or Arnie be setting the world on fire on an international stage?

I'm just pleased to be watching a major international football tournament with so many Stoke players on show - including a couple who are clearly pivotal to their countries performance. Running a fine rule over their performance isn't of much interest to me.

Did shaq last another 90 without picking up any 'knocks'? I fell asleep due to the game being a good cure for insomnia

He ran the game for a large part of the second half. Was he getting the popcorn and ice cream in for the first half And for the last 20 minutes too! He's got a more important role for the team than being captain!

He seems to be doing some really good things but not in dangerous areas. Some of his passing has been excellent, whilst some of it (especially in the final third) has been poor. However, that can probably be said for most of the attacking players in the tournament given the lack of goals so far.
He's been neat and tidy enough for the most part. Some sloppy moments here and there but he could have had another 2 or 3 assists had Seferovic not been utterly shit at finishing. By and large his corners have been wank though. Like really shit.

There just seemed to be some shit decision across the entire Swiss team yesterday especially in the final third. There were a few occasions where Shaq had the ball he then gave it to Lichtensteiner on the overlap and instead of him giving the ball back to Shaq he just crossed into the box to nobody. They seemed to just want to cross regardless of whether there was a man to hit or not.
I think given his turnaround 2nd half and the fact that he seemed to make more of an impact in the middle it makes me wonder long term where does he fit in our side given that Bojan and Imbula also occupy that position. He has the talent to beat people but not the speed that seems to be required to play on the wing. Hughes has certainly got a headache coming this season.
As for the French somebody is going to have to explain to me what makes Pogba worth £80 mill in the 3 games so far I've barely noticed he was playing apart from the jizz fest commentary about him.

To be fair no Player has really stood out this tournament have they? Payet maybe
Shaqiri likes playing centrally but we only make space for him on the right, the Swiss have started following suit and he's better in the number 10 role
Arnie looks hungry but for some reason his teammates think he's shit and don't pass to him, i watched them and many times they chose to go right when Arnie was in acres of space on the left
Just have to face facts that a lot of players/teams haven't really got going so far, Whelan for ROI didn't get close enough to De Bruyne all game but i don't see a thread like this about him..

In Whelans case he has nothing to prove to us Stokies, let alone being worth 12m. Whelan has earned his credit!

In fairness to both Shaqiri and Arnie, neither have seen much of the ball which ultimately is a big problem for wide players playing in poor sides. If they don't get the ball, there isn't much they can do and the longer they go without getting it the more anxious they appear when they do get it, perhaps evidenced by Shaq running the ball out of play in the last bit of action I saw before falling asleep last night.
Arnie has looked pretty dangerous whenever he's had the ball and without doubt, anything good Austria have done has involved him.
Shaq, from what I've seen, looks like a slimmer, harder working version of the player we've had at Stoke this season. For whatever reason, things just aren't happening for him at the moment and he is clearly struggling for form and confidence.
I'm yet to see the full 90 minutes of any game but from what I have seen, Croatia have been the most impressive team (I was amazed when I got back to see they'd thrown away their 2 goal lead on Friday) and the only real standout players have been Modric and Payet, both of whom are superb footballers.
