Thinking of writing a political thriller. The theme of the book revolves around a national election and it looks like the establishment may lose. They've tried everything from threatening economical mayhem to WW3 but opinion polls show that the public are sceptical of the scaremongering. A radical and extreme tactic is required. Too far fetched?

Too far fetched? I know what you're trying to say mate and I'm no lover of Europe in general or the EU in particular but I would vote Monster Raving Loony Party to keep those two upper class qunts Boris Johnson and Michael Gove out of any office of State and I would support any conspiracy against them.

How about a gay guy has an argument with someone in a night club, goes home to fetch a gun, returns to the club to settle a score. The police fire countless rounds from automatic weapons into the club. Dozens end up killed. The gay guy is accused of mass murder, no reports of police bullets killing victims.
Deflection tactic required after a day or so. Without any evidence, an alligator takes a child from a theme park, apparently, even though cases of alligators attacking humans are rare.
All hypothetical of course.

Some sort of Scarlett Johansson

They analyse the media coverage in detail, very interesting. pca.st/TsND

OK, lets indulge my inner tin foil hat.
You're obviously referring to the cox killing and I can certainly see why some would cast a suspicious eye over the events, the timing is especially convenient with 1 week to go and Brexit rising in the polls. I was expecting something to happen just prior to the vote that might have a big effect on it, but i thought it would come in the form of a big european wide isis plot being busted or something along those lines so they can say "look, we need to be part of the EU to coordinate things like this" what are the conspiracy theorists proposing ? he was mind controlled ? his buzzword ranting about "britian first" whilst carrying out the attack did make him sound like some kind of programmed killer. When the police arrested him He reportedly said "it's me" and "i'm a political activist" "keep Britain independent" then he gives his name as "death to traitors, freedom for Britain" during his court appearance.
lets wait till everything comes out before jumping to conclusions though, i'd like to know what Mair said at the well being centre 24 hours before the killing, the person he spoke to reportedly said he was "deeply troubled" and having "some kind of crisis" ... was he hearing voices instructing him to kill ? had he suffered from schizophrenia in the past ? maybe he was coming off medication that kept it under control ?

Might I respectfully suggest that people keep the conspiracy theories on hold until Jo is in the ground at least.
