Just seen on the Beeb that they found the body of that poor kid killed in a Gator attack at Dineyworld in Orlando. Just can't imagine what the family are going through, losing a kid is tragedy enough, but in these circumstances just doesn't bear thinking about. The lawyers are going to be all over this and the payout should rightly be enormous, and maybe even prosecutions will follow, but no amount of compo or retribution could even begin to cover their loss. RPI Little fella, and massive condolences to the family.

It's a terrible shame, however there were signs all over stating you shouldn't enter the water and the mother was in the water with the child at the time. More poor parenting IMO.
RIP to the little guy though, terrible punishment for a silly mistake.

Coincidentally the same day multi billion Shanghai Disney opens. Took over 5 years to build. I was there when they started it

Thousands of people have probably done the same and probably not realised their were alligators in there, such a shame, RIP to the lad, at least he was discovered in one piece.
7 innocent alligators have been killed.

What the hell are alligators doing in a children's theme park . I've been there and I had no idea There's no 100% surefire way to keep them out. Disney's property in Orlando covers the same area of a decent-sized county, and it's all built on swamp land. It's the alligator's natural habitat, and would be impossible to keep them out of the waterways. You see them everywhere in Florida, including residential neighborhoods. This time of year is alligator mating season, and they can become extremely aggressive. It's rare to see them inside Disney property because they have animal control teams dedicated to keeping them out, but no way to 100% guard against it unfortunately.

I was watching Golf on TVs the other week and an Alligator was out of the water and taking a stroll across the golf course.

Heart sank at the thought. A real shame for the family. No parent deserves to loose a child, especially under such tragic circumstances.

Just read a little more about this. The family had been on that beach to watch a movie that Disney were screening. There were signs that said "no swimming" but nothing about alligators.
I've been to Disney the last 3 years with my girls (5 and 4 now) and although we never stayed at this particular resort we did stop onsite for 1 night and walked around one of the lakes at Caribbean Resort. I'm pretty sure, now, that there were alligators in there but at the time this never crossed my mind. I don't remember letting the kids paddle in the water but am pretty sure they didn't...
Hindsight is 20:20 and "everyone" "should" know there is the possibility of alligators being in any body of water.. but you never think of this on a family holiday to Disney.
I don't want to imagine being the parents watching their child being dragged away by the gator.. My heart sinks. The parents will have to live forever with the vision this.
RIP little fella.
